Today, I will be reviewing a product that is perfect for “no makeup” look days. I love the faint tint that some lipsticks leave, so I wanted to try a lip stain. My Experience with Kryolan Lip n Cheek Orchid:
The product comes packed in a small, blue, paper carton and the tube is a small, blue one with the ingredient details written on it. The tube is opaque and it is a little tough to detect amount left. The cap is not color-coded which would make it a little difficult to spot in your stash if you have multiple shades from this range. The cap shuts tightly and the tube is tiny which makes it easy to travel with. Also, the tip is slanted which allows direct application on the lips easier.
Color: The color is a berry pink shade with cool undertones. Actually, the color varies under sunlight and under artificial light. In sunlight, the swatch often looks like a berry-toned pink. However, when you apply it and click pictures, you will see a berry color. I love this shade on my lips as it goes well with my pigmented lips. The color is a great blush shade for the winter too.
Formula: The texture is soft and creamy. It is not too thick, not too runny either. Once dry, it is difficult to blend as it is a stain and not cream. So both for cheeks and the lips, instead of applying too much at a time, it is better to apply little amounts and dab it on to the desired area.
It spreads pretty smoothly and evenly. It never makes my skin oily and patchy. It does not make the skin dry either. It feels like nothing on the lips and cheek. It stains the lips perfectly. I have heavily pigmented lips and it does not cover the pigmentation completely. I do not expect that either from a lip stain. It adds color on the pigmentation though. It never dries out the lips.
Once set, it is smudge-proof, waterproof, and stays on for 5-6 hours. I never apply it on any powdery product as that may make it patchy. It is always a good idea to apply it on your BB cream or foundation or even on bare skin (if you are blessed with such perfect skin). I also at times apply it over primer and then apply foundation on top to get the most natural glow.
Overall, I love this product, more as a blush than as a lip stain. I would also love to ty other shades from the range.
