L.A. Colors Chunky Lip Pencil Terra Cotta Review

Today’s review is going to be about a lip crayon. Every company has its own version of lip crayons and I love most of them. Did this one live up to my expectations? Read on to find out!

My Experience with L.A. Colors Chunky Lip Pencil Terra Cotta:

Packaging: This chubby pencil comes in a pink retractable packaging with silver details. It also has a transparent cap that doesn’t fit that great. So it’s not recommended to carry it in your handbag. But I really love the colour coded packaging so you can easily locate it in your lippy stash. I find the packaging really cute but the cap just spoils it.

Colour: ‘Terra Cotta’ should be a burnt orange color right? Wrong. This is a milky, peachy pink shade which looks great nonetheless but only when swatched on my wrist. On my lips, it looks a very different, pale, washed-out pink. I also noticed that after a few hours of wearing it, it kind of becomes a shade darker. Strange but true. The pigmentation is medium, but it applies very patchy. It settles in fine lines on your lips and when you smile, it looks horrible.

Texture: The texture is really light and it moisturise your lips. But since it is light and creamy, it moves a lot on the lips while talking/eating/drinking. It settles in lip lines and also on the corners of the mouth. It fades from the centre and it fades unevenly. But it does glide on super smoothly even on chapped lips because of the slight balmy texture.

Staying power: It is very much transferable and stays for about 2 hours without fading. It leaves a very natural pink tint behind.

Pros of L.A. Colors Chunky Lip Pencil Terra Cotta:

• Pretty colour.
• Good texture.
• Moisturises lips.
• Leaves a beautiful and natural tint behind.

Cons L.A. Colors Chunky Lip Pencil Terra Cotta:

• Will suit only fair skins.
• Applies very patchy.
• Settles in fine lines and the corners of the mouth.
• Low staying power.
• Not available in India.
