Today, I am here with a new brand again. I always want to try and come up with something new and yet budget-friendly every time. This product was lying in my stash for almost 2 years now. And I am finally reviewing it. Let’s start the review.

My Take on L.A. Colors Cosmetics Soiree 5 Color Metallic Eyeshadow:
Packaging: The shadows are housed in a rectangular-shaped black container, with a plastic cap. All the shadows are placed separately in silver pans. The brand name is written on the cap in bold letters. The cap shuts with a click lock but it’s not of very great quality either. There is a double sided sponge applicator provided with it, which feels quite scratchy on the eyelids, so it’s better not to use it. Overall the packaging is just average, I don’t mind this for a drugstore brand.
Shades: This palette has 5 rich, colorful, shimmery metallic shades. The first shade is a semi-matte dull gray color, with bluish undertones to it. The second shade is a sky blue color with silver sheen to it. Third shade is a vivid hot pink color; both the second and third shades have a frosty or metallic kind of finish to them. The fourth shade is a slightly dull steel blue kind of color or can be called a deep sky blue color. The fifth shade is a semi-matte pinkish purple color. All the shades are good to create different looks and are suitable for fair to medium skin tones.
Texture and Pigmentation: The shadows are soft, smooth and creamy in texture. But the frosty shades in the middle are little crumbly and powdery. The shadows are not very hard pressed; they’re easy to work with. The shadows glide quite well on the eyelids. All the shades in the palette are easily blendable. Although some of the shades are quite powdery I didn’t notice any major fallout during application. All the shades in this palette are decently pigmented, especially the darker ones. One needs to apply the darker shades light-handedly. The bright colors blend to give much muted color on eyelids, which doesn’t look gaudy. The shadows can be easily layered for a more intense color.
Staying power: Each shade has different staying power, depending on their formula, but the shadows aren’t very long lasting without a nice primer base. Generally, the shadows doesn’t stays put for more than 1.5-2 hours, however a primer can help in increasing their longevity. However, the dark pink color lasted on me 3-4 hours, without a primer. The good thing is that the slightly crumbly colors don’t crease on the eyelids, even without a primer.

• The dark colors mildly stain the eyelids.
• Packaging is average.
• Not every day shades.
• The applicator provided is scratchy and of no use.
• Not really long lasting.
• All the shades aren’t metallic as claimed.
• Contains parabens and mica.

Will I Recommend L.A. Colors Cosmetics Soiree 5 Color Metallic Eyeshadow?
May be not, the colors in the palette are too bright for many of us. If you’re somebody who loves to wear such bright, vivid shades, this palette should be your choice. The colors in the palette are not like they won’t suit or wash out Indian complexions, but in our day to day lives many of us tend to stay away from such bright shades.
