Skin-tone: Fair to medium
I love using lip crayons because they are just so my type and look very cute in the lip colours collection. I saw a few lip crayons from L.A. Colors and hence thought of trying them since they are available at a dirt cheap price. I picked up 3 shades and here is review on the shade “Hot Red”.
Price: $1.99/Rs 135

My Experience with L.A. Colors Hot Red Chunky Lip Pencil:
Packaging: The chunky lip pencils are long and sleek like the other lip crayons. The best part about them is that they come in a colour coded packaging which makes it easy to spot them if you own a few. They are very handy, hence can be easily carried around. But the cap has a lot of flaws. Firstly it might get separated if you carry in your bag and secondly while closing the cap, little colour gets chipped off the bullet. But since they are priced just at $1.99, I will not complain much. The shade selection is just amazing. There are so many different shades to choose from.
Shade: “Hot Red” is a totally misleading name for this one. This is not a red at all; I don’t know what made them name this. It is a cool toned fuchsia pink with blue undertones which will make it wearable for only fair to medium skin-tones and those with lighter undertones. The pink is a very catchy and a poppy pink but when my skin is tanned, it does not suit me either. But it is a very cute shade for college girls to reveal their cuteness! Certainly not a pink for all, but if you want to go trendy, then this is the bright shade to go with!
Consistency and pigmentation: The lip pencils are super creamy and glide very smoothly on my lips. It is super hydrating and feels very buttery on my lips. Initially, it will cling on the dry patches but it soon settles down to a creamy form. The finish is glossy and creamy too. It looks very cute on the lips. The pigmentation is really good for a lip crayon since the perfect colour appears on my lips in just 2 swipes. It is a lip balm plus colour, so it does all that you expect.
Staying power: The staying power is somewhere close to 3 hours. It starts to lose the creaminess after 2 hours and then the stain stays till the time you remove it. It transfers a lot initially but after it turns into a stain, it does not transfer a lot. The lasting power is cool since I wouldn’t expect more at that price. These are total steal items, do grab a few for every-day use and even if you don’t like them later, then you won’t regret buying them.

Will I Repurchase/Recommend L.A. Colors Hot Red Chunky Lip Pencil?
Yes I would love to; at such a low price! But I will try some bright and darker shades that will suit Indian skin-tones. Grab it if you are looking for something for every-day use but in some other shade, not this one.
Conclusion: It is a steal deal.
