Recently, L.A Colors has launched their collections in India and I bought a couple of lipsticks from their Matte range. Today, I am reviewing the L.A Colors Matte Lipstick in the shade ‘In Love’. Read on to know more about the shade.

My Experience with L.A. Colors Matte Lipstick – In Love:
Packaging: The lipstick comes in a long black and brown tube with a clear cap. I always love color coded tubes as they are easy to find. The packaging looks nice but the bullet doesn’t go inside properly so it might damage. Hence, I always have to close the cap carefully. Otherwise, it is safe to carry around. According to the quality, it is an affordable matte lipstick.
Shade: This matte lipstick range has so many beautiful shades and I picked a couple of them for myself. The shade ‘In Love’ is a beautiful n*de dusky brown shade with a hint of ash tone in it. This makes it a unique shade and it looks gorgeous on my medium tanned skin tone. It will look like a deeper brown shade on women with fair skin tone and it is a suitable n*de shade for women with dark skin tone.
This shade has a beautiful yet sexy look which suits any heavy makeup look. It is not a pretty shade but, it looks bold and hot. I absolutely love this shade. Also, the shade is nicely pigmented and it needs a maximum of two swipes for the perfect color payoff. It can hide pigmented lips really well.
Texture and Quality: The lipstick has a smooth soft texture that glides easily on the lips and it provides an even application. Also, layering doesn’t make it heavy on the lips and it feels quite comfortable to wear. The lipstick doesn’t contain any shimmers and it has a perfect velvety matte finish that looks so amazing. It’s non-drying matte texture keeps my lips soft and moisturised for a long period of time. It never looks patchy nor it highlights any dry patches.
It works as a good matte lipstick which never feels dry. Most of the matte lipsticks make the lips dry but, it keeps my lips soft throughout the day. Only after 5-6 hours, it feels slightly dry which is not a bothering for me. Initially, it does transfer but, once it settles down properly, it stays nicely and doesn’t transfer or smudge. This minimal transfer never fades the color from your lips. Also, it never settles down into fine lines or doesn’t crease. I don’t like the smell of this particular shade alone.
Staying Power: As it is a n*de shade, it can’t stay longer like the other darker shades from this range. Still, it stays for around 5 hours on my lips without lunch and it can’t survive heavy lunch. After a heavy meal, the color looks faded. It always needs a reapplication after lunch but, I never bother to reapply such gorgeous shade. Also, it is easy to remove from the lips.
Overall, I am in love with this shade ‘In Love’. This is a unique brown shade that complements my skin tone nicely. I am totally obsessed with this beautiful n*de shade. You can find such shades in Kylie Jenner lip kit or Huda Beauty lip kit but, I got this one at a cheaper rate with a really nice texture. I wish it stays a little better on the lips.

Cons of L.A. Colors Matte Lipstick – In Love:
- Didn’t like the smell (this particular shade).
- Fades away after heavy lunch.
- Can’t survive for long hours like other deeper shades.
