I was planning to try some coloured eye liners for long. These gel glide liners from L.A. Girl looked affordable and impressive, so I bought two of them. Deep Bronze is one of the shades; read on to know if I am actually impressed with the products or not 🙂

My Experience with L.A. Girl Deep Bronze Gel Glide Eyeliner Pencil:

Packaging: This is a matte black and sharpenable pencil. Now although I find sharpenable pencils to be hygienic, I am not a big fan of these plastic versions. While the wooden pencils can be sharpened in a precise manner, these are often breakage prone. This particular pencil cannot be sharpened much as that leads to breakage and wastage of product, so I need to sharpen it every time I use it, at times twice for the two eyes and it is actually very irritating most of the times. This pencil has color-coded patterns and fonts printed all over it. But, as this shade is deeper shade, the fonts and other product details written on the black base in a bronze shade are not easily readable (it is also evident in the pictures). There is a colour-coded base in the pencil and a plastic cap is provided to protect the pencil.

Shade/Texture/Pigmentation:  This is a beautiful bronze-y shade with the perfect hints of deep brown and bronze. There are micro shimmers which reflects the colour amazingly. So, it is very apt for party looks when you do not want to over do your eye makeup, but still want to keep it glam. The pigmentation is great too. Just one swipe deposits enough colour, but I prefer adding two layers to get the desired shimmery look. The texture is very soft and smooth. The shimmers do not make it giddy or patchy. It glides like a dream, depositing the colour in an even manner. The eyeliner sets to a beautiful velvety finish. The formula is lightweight and feels comfortable on my eyelids. I am not very comfortable with using it on my waterline. It never spreads evenly, it makes the lashes a little muddy and sticky and worst of all it irritates my eyes. I mean it actually stings after a minute or so and the waterline feels very heavy. So, I cannot use it in the waterlines ever. I do not know if this is about my eyes or it is about this particular shade (because everyone else who have used the other variants and reviewed them on IMBB did not face this problem).

Staying Power:  This stays on without fading for 7-8 hours. It is waterproof and smudge-proof. The shimmers stay in place. It stays fresh and intense day long without creasing. Removal with a water-based cleanser can be a little messy and spread the shimmers. It is better to use a creamy product and then it gets removed in a swipe or two.

Overall, this is an amazing gel-based product which is convenient to use. I also use it as base colour to create soft, smokey eye looks.

•  Gets messy when you remove with a water-based cleanser.

Yes, if you want to try a bronze-based eye-colour, but if you have very sensitive eyes, it is better to give it a miss.
