Despite being a lipstick junkie, I do not have many reds in my collection. I always tend to buy orange or coral lipsticks, but miss out on true reds. So now I wanted to buy a pure bright red for myself, hence I picked up L.A. Girl Matte Flat Velvet Lipstick in the shade Gossip. Scroll down to know more about it.

My Experience with L.A. Girl Gossip Matte Flat Velvet Lipstick:

The lipstick comes in a long black packaging with a color indicated cap. This color-coded packaging makes it easy to identify the lipstick from the stash. It is also quite safe to carry around. If you take a look at the quantity provided, this lipstick seems like good value for money.

There are total 26 shades in this range. ‘Gossip’ is a generous true blood red color with a pink undertone. It is just the perfect party red color and looks amazing on a date night. It looks so beautiful and bright on my medium skin tone. It instantly brightens up my skin tone and adds a glam look to it. It doesn’t have any shimmers. The shade is quite pigmented as it requires only 2 swipes for the true color to show up on my skin tone. It can easily hide pigmented lips too.

The lipstick is quite soft and smooth, so it glides easily on the lips and provides an even finish. But the texture is kind of waxy, which makes layering a bit difficult and heavy. I don’t know why but the texture feels a little odd on the lips. But it provides a perfect matte finish that looks so amazing. It has a non-drying finish, which keeps my lips soft and moisturised. It never looks patchy and never highlights those dry patches.

But, after a few hours, it settles down to a perfect matte stain and then it starts to feel a little dry. If you have really dry and chapped lips, you must use a lip balm underneath. Otherwise, this lipstick keeps my lips soft. It does not smudge or transfer a lot hence this is a good matte lipstick. This lipstick never settles into the fine lines and does not crease. I totally love the quality!

As a nice matte lipstick, it stays on for around 7-8 hours on lips. It can survive a meal without even fading. After a heavy or oily meal, it might disappear or fade from the centre of my lips. Still, it leaves a nice deep stain on lips that stays for long. It is so difficult to remove the stain from lips. Even after trying hard, my lips look pink. Overall, I am obsessed with this beautiful bright red. I am now waiting for a party so that I can wear this shade with gorgeous makeup.
