My Experience with L.A. Girl Lipliner Pencil Rose:
L.A. Girl Lipliner Pencil Rose come in a sleek, sharpenable pencil type packaging. The pencil itself is black coloured with a matte finish and color-coded end; just keep them upside down and colour-coded ends make it easy to pick up the desired shade. The pencil bears only the shade name and no other detail. It comes sealed with cellophane that houses other details regarding the product. Also, there is no sharpener provided with this lip liner pencil.
The shade ‘Rose’ is actually a magenta coloured lip liner which looks pretty good. I think the shade will suit a variety of skin tones. It does not wash me out or look tacky. It can be used as a lip liner or can be worn on its own as a lip color. The shade works nicely in both cases.
The lip liner in the shade ‘Rose’ provides a uniform and intense color pay off with just one swipe. There is no pigment skipping, and in a couple of swipes, it shows full color. I have pigmented upper lip, but this lip liner is able to conceal it while showing its true color over the lips.
However, it cannot conceal the pigmented outer corners of the lips effectively. I have to go for 3 to 4 swipes to get the lip pencil show its true color on my pigmented lips. It does not crumble or feel heavy on the lips in the process.
The texture of the lip liner is creamy and I still find it very difficult to glide over the lips. It does not glide on its own and there is too much of tugging and pulling in the process. When I use this as a liner, the tugging and pulling are minimal, but when used on its own as a lip color the tugging and pulling are more.
I use the slanted side of the tip to fill in the lips. It makes the application easier as the pencil glides easily. There is no sheen to the shade and it sets to the soft matte finish. The formula of this lip liner is very lightweight and does not feel heavy on the lips.
The lip liner has a drying formula which starts to feel too dry soon after the application. Hence, I always wear it over a lip balm. Also, if I wear this color without exfoliating my lips, it clings to the dry patches for sure and settles into the lines. The actual product does not have any fragrance as such but the pencil itself smells weird.
This shade stays put for 3 to 4 hours without any meal. After having a complete meal, it fades and leaves a very light stain behind. On top of that, I have a habit of licking the centre of my lips. The stain can easily be removed with a wipe. It is not transfer proof. The shade also does not bleed or feather.
The shade is very easy to remove; I just swipe cotton over the lips once with Garnier Micellar Oil-Infused Cleansing Water or use Himalaya Moisturizing Aloe Vera Facial Wipes. It gets removed completely and does not leave any stain behind.
