Today’s review is about a reddish brown lipstick that I wanted to add to my stash after seeing Rati di’s look. I came across this shade when I was searching for a product under the sponsored scheme. My Experience with L.A. Girl Matte Flat Velvet Lipstick Spicy:

Packaging: The packaging of this lipstick is pretty unusual. It comes in a long black tube with a color indicator on the lid. It is so easy to find it from your storage unit. The brand name is inscribed in golden and the ingredients list is mentioned on the tube only. The lid shuts with a click and it can be easily carried in your purse. The bullet is cut in a sloped angle which makes the application super easy.

Shade: Spicy is the shade that I was looking for. It is a perfect balance of red and brown, making it the best reddish brown shade I have ever seen. I think this one has a blue undertone and that suited my skin tone pretty well. I think this will look a lot deeper on fairer skin tones. However, on me, one swatch brought out the true color. I may layer this up to build the intensity. As my skin tone is brown, chocolate brown lipsticks look a little unflattering and flat on me. This one adds a beautiful glam factor to the lips which I really love.

Finish and Texture: I will describe the lipstick as a creamy matte one. It glides smoothly on the lips and the colour spreads evenly. The texture may feel a little waxy at times. The creamy feel remains throughout and it keeps the lips moist. Even though it is creamy and transfers a little on cups (or bf’s cheek) initially, it stays in place for 6-7 hours. After the first few hours, it actually becomes a very dry, matte lipstick and if you have dry lips, you must use a lip balm before applying this. It does not cling to the creases of the lips or highlights any dry patches. It may fade a little from the center of the lips after a heavy meal. But, it leaves a deep stain behind. It is best to remove it with an oil-based remover.
