My Experience with L.A. Girl Mermaid Blue Gel Glide Eyeliner Pencil:

This pencil has a color-coded base with patterns all over in the same color as the eyeliner, which is blue in this case. The pencil has a clear cap that does not shut with any click. Hence, it is necessary to shut the cap tightly as it slips off easily. This is sharpenable pencil that needs to be sharpened after every use for a pointed tip. The pencil does not come with any sharpener. Overall, the packaging is fine and travel friendly.

I love almost every shade of blue in eye pencil, whether it’s turquoise blue, royal blue or sea blue or any other blue. These blues and greens are my current favorite eyeliners. Now, let’s talk about the shade “Mermaid Blue.” This is a nice sea blue eyeliner with loads of fine micro shimmers in it. These shimmers are not noticeable and just add a pearly shine to this eyeliner. The shade is bright and fresh. It looks so vibrant on the eyes. So, this one is not for those who like subtle eye makeup. I find it a great option to be worn at evening parties. I have already sharpened the half of the pencil by now. So, I guess this is enough to let you that how much I love this color. The pigmentation of this eyeliner is nice. It requires just two swipes to build up the color and make it pop. Though, I expected a better pigmentation, but I am happy to see that it’s easily buildable.

Apart from the shade, the texture of the eyeliner is something that has made me fall for it again. It glides super easily and smoothly on the eyelids without any tugging or pulling. It glides all over the lid so smoothly. The eyeliner is waterproof and does not come off when it comes in contact with water. So, its waterproof and waxy texture makes it a little difficult to build up the color on my waterline. It works nicely on my upper and lower lash line. The pearly finish in the eyeliner gives a velvety finish to it.

The formula is lightweight and safe for contact lens wearers. It glides evenly on the eyelids and never gets patchy. The shimmers in the eyeliner stay in place and do not budge at all. The pencil is waterproof and smudge-proof. It does not have that tendency to crease. It looks so fresh throughout the day.

The lasting power of this eye pencil is lovely. It lasted for more than 10 hours on my eyelids with a minimal fading from the corners. The color looks fresh and intense all day long, but the color fades away after 5-6 hours from my waterline. There was not any heavy smudging. The eyeliner is pretty easy to remove. The shimmers in this eye pencil can be taken off completely using a good eye makeup remover. Overall, I am totally in love with eye pencil, so I would not mind its little cons.
