If you are looking for budget beauty products, then ‘L. A. Girl’ is also an option for you. It had launched four eye shadow palettes last year. Here, I am reviewing ‘L.A. Girl Beauty Brick’ in Nudes.
It comes in a black cardboard box with a transparent window provided which gives a peek to the eye shadow colors. There are 12 pans provided within the cardboard container. On the top cover, ‘L.A Girl eye shadow collection in NUDES’ is printed. The cover closes with a magnetic closure.
At the back of the cover, there is long mirror given with little breadth. At the base of the palette, the eye shadow pans are present with a dual-ended eye shadow applicator provided. One side of the applicator is a synthetic flat eye shadow brush, other side – sponge tip applicator.
At the back, the ingredients, weight, manufacturing and other details are mentioned. Overall, the packaging is flimsy. There are chances that the box will open in the bag and mess the product. The mirror is very thin and not of much use.
$7 (approximately INR 420)
This is a collection of three matte and nine shimmer shades. All the eye shadows have different textures. The matte ones are little bit powdery. They have tad bit fallout and spillage on dipping an eye shadow brush. Matte shades are bit hard and powder texture is rough.
The shimmer shades are smoother. Little less dry… They do not have chunky glitter but do have fine shimmer particles. These fine shimmer, when I took a swatch, did not show up on skin until you take a very close look. By weight the eye shadow are of 1gm each, which is amazing but when you take closer look you will find shimmer shades are more filled, in the pan, than the matte shades. These are easily blend-able and build-able.
When you take a look at ingredient list, you will find many fillers used (magnesium stearate, talc, aluminum starch octenylsuccinate). So, I did not have very high expectation from the colors; still these performed well. The matte shades lack pigmentation when compared to the shimmer shades.
The shades are very pretty. First six shades and eighth shades belong to rose color family. Seventh one is a chocolate shimmer and tenth, eleventh, twelfth shades belong to the deep taupe family. This palette looks very similar to ‘NAKED-3’ palette. I do not own any famous Naked palettes, as I was able to find many affordable dupes in the market. To show the true color, I had to build the pigmentation up 2-3 times in my swatches below.
I normally apply eye shadow without a base. These colours lasted on my eyelids for about 5 hours. Then, they started fading unevenly. Applying base may extend the wear time and make them fade evenly.
Pro of L.A. Girl Nudes Beauty Brick Eyeshadow Collection:
- Very affordable
- No chunky cheap glitter
- Good amount of product
- Decent staying power
- Workable pigmentation
- Texture is also good
Cons of L.A. Girl Nudes Beauty Brick Eyeshadow Collection:
- Availability is an issue
- Lot of fillers
- Flimsy packaging
Would you recommend L.A. Girl Nudes Beauty Brick Eyeshadow Collection?
Yes , If you do not own or NAKED 3 palette not worth its money and you have a chance to grab this palette I give a green signal to do that. I could not compare this palette to NAKED 3 because I do not own one. I just did some search online and decided never to buy NAKED big palettes.
