My Experience with L.A. Girl Tokyo Orange Color Balm:
L.A. Girl Color Balm comes packaged in a cute orange coloured bullet with a clear cap. The tube has a digital print in a contrasting blue colour. One can see the shade through the transparent cap as the bullet doesn’t go all the way down. Also, I feel that the lip balm bullet is not sturdy because it breaks easily. Actually, it broke off from its base before I started using it. Personally, I am not impressed with this packaging. It feels a little cheap.
The Color Balm range has six shades, and the shade, “Tokyo Orange” is a beautiful summery fresh orange shade. I love to wear orange on my lips and “Tokyo Orange” is a suitable shade for all skin tones. It doesn’t have any shimmers in it. I love this sheer orange shade, and it is a decently pigmented shade that needs two to three swipes for a good color payoff on the lips. However, it’s not too pigmented, so it might not hide the pigmentation on the lips.
The lip balm has a nice and soft slippery smooth texture that glides effortlessly on the lips. It provides a beautiful glossy-tinted finish to the lips. The color spreads evenly and the texture feels extremely light as well. Also, the formula doesn’t feel dry or patchy at all. I have quite dry lips, and this lip balm sits comfortably on the lips. It never highlights any dry patches.
The lip balm provides a decent hydration to my lips and keeps them moisturised. It hides dry, chapped lips and cures the dryness as well. It makes the lips soft and smooth while adding a healthy tint. But, this hydration doesn’t last long; it needs reapplication after 3 hours or after a heavy lunch. As it’s a lip balm, it does transfer a lot, and the glossy finish looks faded within 2 hours.
Now, coming to the staying power, it stays for around 3 hours on my lips. As it is a lip balm, it doesn’t survive meals at all. After a meal, it looks totally faded and needs a reapplication. But, the color never settles into fine lines or creases on my lips.
Overall, it is a super pretty summery shade that looks beautiful on the lips, and it provides a decent hydration too. I think it is a good buy, only the formula is not suitable for cold winter days, and it is not a long-lasting product.
