My go-to makeup products mostly include lipsticks, colored liners and mascaras along with a good coverage foundation. Blushes and highlighters often take a backseat in my stash, and I own basics in them. But, I saw this cheek palette online and was drawn to it. The colors seemed pretty unconventional for a person like me who preferred muted rosy cheeks and a hint of highlighter. Let’s see if this palette from L.A Colors lived up to my expectations.

My Experience with L.A. Colors So Cheeky Blush and Highlight Palette – Hot and Spicy:

Packaging: The highlight and cheek palette comes in a classy looking shiny black case. There is a transparent lid, which helps you to see the shades. The case seems sturdy and the lid shuts securely with a click. There is no mirror provided, which I don’t mind much. It is sleek and travel-friendly. The product details are neatly mentioned on the back of the palette. Overall, I love this sassy and safe packaging.

This palette attracted me because of its lovely colors- right from a mauve to a fiery orange-red. This contains four blushes and two highlighters. I will talk about them individually.

1. The first one is a lovely copper shade with an undertone of brown. It has great pigmentation and can add warmth to your cheeks. I use it as a highlighter or over my cheeks for a subtle glow. It is finely milled and the shimmers don’t feel gritty.

2. The second shade is a dusty rose shade. This is a beautiful shade that adds a lovely flush to cheeks. Very suitable for day time wear also. Looks sophisticated and sober and it is a top choice.
3. The third shade is a mauve color, unconventional for a blush, but nonetheless is a unique one. It is especially good for fall and winter.

4. The fourth shade is a fiery orange-red, which can easily give you the most flushed cheeks in winters. Who doesn’t love warm orange cheeks on a chilly winter morning?
5. The fifth shade is a golden one, a true golden which can be used for highlighting.

6. The last shade is a coral golden shade, which can double up as a blush and highlighter. This shade will suit fair to medium skin tones.

All the shades will suit a diverse spectrum of skin colors, from pale to dusky. Also, the shades are versatile and can be easily used as eye shadows as well. All the shades have good blending capacity and do not feel chalky or gritty. They are highly pigmented colors; a gentle swirl will do the trick. I would definitely recommend dusting off the excess product to avoid going overboard. The silkiness ensures that the product doesn’t accentuate pores or dryness. A good quality brush is a must-have, since using fingers with this palette can give you clown cheeks.

Staying power is around 4-5 hours, but a well prepped and primed skin will do better justice to the product.

Why not? It’s a beautiful palette with some pretty shades and quite affordable. It will last me long, so won’t repurchase.
