L.A. Colors Duo Tone Eyeshadow Royalty Review

I had reviewed L. A. Colors Duo Tone Eye shadow in “Toasty” and “Mermaid” previously. Today, I am going to share my views on the variant called Royalty. Read on for more details.

My Experience with L.A. Colors Duo Tone Eyeshadow Royalty:

The eyeshadow comes in a round, black-colored plastic palette with a see-through lid. The clear lid helps to easily see the shadows. The brand name is embossed on the lid. The lid fits very securely with an audible click, but the palette is very fragile and I ended up breaking the lid of the palette. There is a mirror and an applicator with this palette. Overall, the packaging looks cheap and it is really fragile.

This variant is called “Royalty,’ which has these two beautiful vibrant eyeshadows. This palette is ideally suitable for creating party or festive makeup looks. Such shades cannot be used on everyday basis. The blue shadow in this palette just took my heart away. Now, let us discuss each shade separately.

The first shade in the palette is a shimmery dull gold color which is loaded with lots of subtle shimmer. These shimmers are tiny and are finely milled into the eyeshadow formulation. The shimmers give it a stunning, metallic kind of a finish. This shade works as a beautiful eyelid color. It is good to be used with a “cut crease” makeup look.

The second shade is my favorite. It is a peacock blue kind of a color with a beautiful sheen in it. It looks almost like a metallic eyeshadow. It also contains fine shimmer which does not look too chunky. The shimmers do not look gaudy at all. This shade is pretty for creating heavy eye makeup.

The texture of these eyeshadows is soft and smooth. The formula is lightweight and feels comfortable on the eyes. It blends easily and do not go patchy, but like other variants, this eyeshadow also has fallout issues. Both the shades fallout so much like most of shimmery eye shadows, which need to be cleaned properly to achieve a polished look.

These eyeshadows are average in pigmentation and better than the other two other variants that I have reviewed, but the color becomes dull upon blending, so I need to put a lot of product to make the color pop. The shadows in this variant have some creasing issues.

The longevity of these shadows is low, like all the other variants, they last for around 4 hours with an eye primer underneath. The shimmers in the eye shadow budge around the eye area and make it glow like a disco ball. Though the palette turned out better in terms of pigmentation and shades but the formulation is again a total fail. So, I would neither repurchase nor would I recommend these to you guys.
