My Experience with L. A. Colors Pout Super Shine Lip Gloss Sweet:

The lip gloss comes packed in a small, cylindrical, plastic tube. The tube is transparent and has an off-white cap bearing the brand’s tagline on it. The see-through tube helps to easily spot the shade. Also, there is a small label on the cap, which indicates the shade name and ingredients list. There is a small doe-foot applicator attached with the cap. This applicator is soft and easy to work with but it picks up only a small amount of the lip gloss, so I have to dip it again and again to apply it properly. Other than this, the packaging is leak proof and does not occupy much space. So, overall the packaging is basic and travel friendly.

There are a total of 11 shades in this range and I have picked 10 of them. The shade that I am going to review is called “Sweet.” It is a cool-toned petal pink kind of shade. This shade is flattering for fair skin tones only. This shade will probably wash out most of Indian skin tones. This one has better pigmentation and is capable of hiding pigmentation of the lips up to some extent, but this shade is flattering for very fair skin tones.

The brand claims it to be a high-shine lip gloss, but actually it has a very soft and healthy sheen. There are some micro shimmers in this lip gloss, which are finely milled into it and do not look chunky on the lips. The shimmers are not really noticeable. They just contribute in giving a healthy sheen to the lips.

The texture of the lip gloss is smooth and creamy. It glides smoothly on the lips without any tug or pull. The formula is thick and I would not say that it is lightweight but it is not really heavy either. It feels comfortable on the lips. I can feel the presence of this gloss on my lips but it does not feel annoying. It is not sticky like most other drugstore glosses.

It looks too shiny initially and later on, the shine settles a bit and gives healthy sheen to the lips. Though, it is not sticky even upon layering, but it has a little streaking issue. The harsh brush lines are visible on the lips while applying multiple coats but it can be managed easily by pursing the lips together. The color spreads evenly on the lips without getting patchy. The lip gloss is not drying. It is not too hydrating.

This lip gloss has a mild vanilla fragrance, which is slightly strong, but it does stay for quite long, so this can be bothersome for people with sensitive noses. The longevity of this lip gloss is something, which has really disappointed me. It stays for around 2 hours on my lips. It does not survive even light meals and fades away completely. It loses its glossy sheen in the mean time and also the color fades away gradually, so frequent reapplications are needed. This happens to most of the sheer finish lip glosses, so I don’t mind reapplying as it wipes off completely and does not leave any kind of tint behind.
