My Experience with L. A. Colors Pout Super Shine Lipgloss Plump:

The lipgloss comes packed in a small cylindrical plastic tube. The tube is transparent and it has an off-white cap bearing the brand’s tagline on it. The see-through tube helps to easily spot the shade. Also, there is a small label on the cap, which indicates the shade name and ingredients list. There is a small doe-foot applicator attached with the cap. This applicator is soft and easy to work with, but it picks up only a small amount of the lip gloss. So, I have to dip it again and again to apply it properly. Other than this, the packaging is leak-proof and does not occupy much space. So, overall the packaging is basic and travel-friendly.

Totally there are eleven shades in this range and I have got ten of these. The shade I am going to review is called “Plump”. It is a bright purple kind of shade. This shade is flattering for fair skin tones to medium skin tones. But since the pigmentation is really sheer, it is difficult to build up the true colour. It looks like a clear gloss in one swipe and it needs to be layered on to show true colour. It is good for college-going girls and also for those who do not feel comfortable in wearing lipsticks on regular basis. These glosses are sheer ones and do not impart full coverage. So, ideally these are not suitable for people who have pigmented lips, but these can be used on top of the regular lip color for that soft healthy sheen.

The brand claims it to be a high shine lipgloss, but actually it has a very soft and healthy sheen. There are some microshimmers in this lipgloss which are finely milled into it and do not look chunky on the lips. The shimmers are not really noticeable. They just contribute in giving a healthy sheen to the lips. It gives a nice wet look to the lips. I has mentioned already that these are very sheer in terms of pigmentation and needs to be layered on to show up the color properly otherwise, it looks like another transparent lip gloss. It is definitely not capable in covering high lip pigmentation.

The texture of the lipgloss is smooth and creamy. It glides smoothly on the lips without any tugging or pulling. The formula is thick and I would not say that is lightweight, but it is not really heavy either. It feels comfortable on the lips. I can feel the presence of this gloss on my lips, but it does not feel annoying. It is not sticky like most of the drugstore glosses. They look too shiny initially and later on the shine settles a bit and gives healthy sheen to the lips.Though it is not sticky even upon layering, it has a little streaking issues. The harsh brush lines are visible on the lips while applying multiple coats, but it can be managed easily by pursing the lips together. The color spreads evenly on the lips without getting patchy. The lipgloss is neither too drying nor too hydrating. The lipgloss has mild vanilla fragrance which is slightly strong and it does stay for quite long, so this can be bothersome for people with sensitive noses.

The longevity of this lipgloss is something which has really disappointed me. It stays for around 2 hours on my lips. It does not survive even light meals and fades away completely. It looses its glossy sheen in the mean time and also the color fades away gradually. So, frequent reapplications are required. This happens to most of the sheer finish lipglosses, so this is why I don’t mind reapplying it. But, it can be annoying at times as it wipes off completely and does not leave any kind of tint behind.
