My Experience with L.A. Colors Truly Matte Foundation:

The foundation comes in a pretty, clear, plastic bottle with a clear cap. It has a pump dispenser which makes it a user-friendly packaging, and at $6 price tag, it is really a nice, travel-friendly, lightweight bottle. The pump pulls a good amount of product at once which helps to have a control over the amount dispensed too. So overall, I like this packaging. This bottle has 40ml of the product which is definitely better than what other drugstore foundations offer in terms of quantity.

Coming to the shade options – it is available in 15 shades, which is a huge range and it has shades for all skin tones, from fair to dark. I am medium tanned and I picked up the shade “Golden Beige” which is perfect for my complexion. Initially, it looks like a warm, yellow-toned beige shade, but after a few minutes, the shade oxidizes a lot and settles into a warm, tanned tone that looks like an exact match for my skin. I am so happy with this range. Though sometimes, it looks a bit dark on me, but it will be a perfect summer shade as I am already getting tanned. Hence you have to be very careful when you pick the shade because this foundation tends to oxidize up to two tones and you have to pick your shade based on that.

This foundation provides medium to full coverage. You can build up the coverage too. Yes, it can hide all imperfections like spots, pigmentation, uneven skin tone. It can hide redness and darkness around the eye area too. Now, I don’t have major issues on skin, so it looks really nice on me. It doesn’t leave any white cast and looks like second skin on me.

This foundation has a thick, creamy consistency that glides so well on skin and blends effortlessly. I use foundation brush and sponge too and it works well with both the tools and gives me smooth and flawless finish.

The texture is soft and very smooth, looks extremely natural and fresh on skin too. Though it has a thick consistency, but it feels very light and comfortable. I like the fact that it’s an almost a full-coverage foundation, but it has a lightweight formula, which is definitely a rare combination. It never feels patchy and never clings on to dry patches.

This foundation provides good hydration to skin as well. It is actually good for all skin types. Though the brand has claimed it to be a truly matte foundation, it doesn’t feel dry on skin. It settles down into a velvety matte texture that looks seamless. I like this balanced formula. Also, it never clogs my pores. Though it can’t cover facial pores, for that, I have to use a good primer. It suits my sensitive skin well and has never broken me out. The only thing is that it can’t control oil for long so I have to use an oil-free moisturizer or an oil-free primer that helps to  keep my face oil free. With a good matte primer, it works better to control oil. Also, the foundation doesn’t have any fragrance to it, which is good if you ask me.

On my oily skin, it stays really long, for around 7-8 hours without any creasing except on my T zone. It slightly moves from the T zone after 3-4 hours and I have to set it, but otherwise, it is really a good foundation that keeps skin fresh for long.

LA Colors Truly Matte Foundation is an amazing, budget-friendly foundation that can provide great results. It does provide perfect coverage with its flawless formula and it also feels very light on skin. I am so happy with my buy and it’s totally a worth product. On my hand, it looks a bit darker after oxidization, but on face, it looks a bit lighter than hand.
