My Experience with L.A. Girl Eye Lux Mesmerizing Eyeshadow Tranquilize:

Packaging: Let’s begin with the packaging of the product. Firstly, it does not come enclosed in any cardboard cover. The rest of the box is pretty basic rectangular shape. It has 4 colours in non-conventional partitions.The plastic lid of this packaging is thick enough sand has no chances to break easily. The pots are not regular-shaped rectangles, squares or circles but random criss-cross shapes. Even though the packet was freshly opened, yet it had scratches on the plastic transparent side. This palette can be easily put into your makeup vanity and it doesn’t take much space. The only con is it doesn’t come with its own set of applicators or mirror. If it contained these, then it would have been a more travel-friendly palette.

The name of the brand is mentioned on the back of the pot and also on the front of the cover in golden fonts. On the back side of the container, the shade name of the eye shadow is mentioned. Overall, the packaging is pretty normal and nothing fascinating to the senses.

Shade: This palette contains four shades and this is basically a green-themed palette. There are 3 matte and 1 shimmer shade in this palette. If you look at the pan, you can see visible shimmers, but when you swatch them they are hardly visible after swatching. All the shades are pretty wearable both for day as well as night looks. I really love the choice of colours, it is a nice colourful palette. Now, let’s describe the shades individually.

Shade 1: The top most shade is a pretty yellow-based white shade which goes opaque in 1-2 swipes. This is a shimmer shade but it doesn’t have a glittery finish rather the shimmer finish is satin type. Texture is smooth and it can be used to highlight the inner corners of the eyes as well the brow bone.
Shade 2: This is my most favorite shade from the palette and it is a gorgeous colour. It is a sea-green shade and the colour shows up on the eyes well. Texture of this shade is also smooth.
Shade 3: The third shade is a teal green shade which can be used on the outer corners of the eyes. It has little fallout which comes by nature with its powdery finish.
Shade 4: This is a taupe brown colour which will act great as a transition or crease shade. For this shade also, the texture is smooth and pigmentation is decent with minimal fallout issues. Only using this colour for office wear can create a nice neutral look.

Pigmentation: All the shades in this palette has decent pigmentation. Goes fully opaque in 1-2 swipes. You can also build the colour for a deeper intense look. The colour occupies the lids properly and shows up well on the eyes.

Texture and Finish: The shades in this palette have an extremely soft smooth texture and they glide on the eyes effortlessly. It contains finely milled shimmer particles that blends seamlessly to create beautiful eye looks. The texture is not creamy smooth, but it is smooth enough. Also, the shades have minimal fallout. They blend beautifully on the eyes and give a flawless finish. The shades don’t feel patchy and ensure a smooth finish post application. I mix and match different colours to create different looks. I really loved the way this palette fared for me. In a nutshell, this is a nicely formulated palette.

These eye shadows can be applied both with a brush and even with your fingers. But a brush helps in better blending. For the shimmer shade, I like application with fingers. But I haven’t seen any creasing issues with these.

Staying Power: These shades stay in place for a decent amount of time without any creasing. They last for about 7-8 hours with a primer underneath. However it stays for about 3-4 hours without a primer and the colour intensity also reflects better if you use a primer underneath. If you have oily lids, you will definitely need a primer prior to application; otherwise the intensity will gradually fade away. These shades are easy to remove as well. They come off easily with any makeup remover.

Overall: This palette really fares well in all respects and it is great to just flip in your bag to creating a quick makeup look. It is a great option as a colourful palette. I love the concept of a quad like this. Overall, I am happy with the purchase.
