I have been seeing some amazing makeup looks on IMBB and some are so creative. I have been in love with golden shimmer and metallic ombre lip trend and decided to pick up a golden lip liner to add some oomph to my lips. Today’s review is on LA Girl Golden Lip Pencil. Read on for more details:

My Experience with L.A. Girl Lip Liner Golden:

The lip pencil is a wooden black pencil with a black cap. The pencil comes sealed and the bottom of the pencil is color coded. The product can be easily sharpened with a normal sharpener. The pencil has some weird smell, it’s not woody. The cap sits perfectly. The lip pencil is sleek and travel friendly. The product is easily affordable.

The texture of this lip pencil is extremely soft and creamy. It does break a bit during sharpening and also during application. The product has to be handled with care. The color, as the name suggests, is a golden shade. It is more of a rose gold than yellow gold. The shade has little sparkly particles that make the product metallic finish. Thus it can add a metallic finish to your lipstick.

The pigmentation is great, but when I apply it on its own to my lips, the shade is not flattering. This lip liner can be used to add a different dimension to your lipstick. I prefer using the lip liner at the edges to create an ombre effect or at the center to add plumpness to the lips.

This pencil can be used as an eyeliner too but then it tugs at the skin. The product glides on smoothly and easily. You can build up the color if needed. The product even though is pigmented doesn’t do much justice to pigmented lips. I have dark lips and I have noticed that it adds a shine but it makes my lips look darker.

The lip liner provides a sparkly matte finish. The lip liner when worn alone does feel a bit drying and thus has to be applied to well exfoliated and moisturized lips. It does stay on my lips for around 2-3 hours and then it does cling onto the dry patches. When I wear it on top of lipsticks, the liner stays for around 4-5 hous and fades with the lipstick.

The texture makes the product easily transferable. It doesn’t cause any bleeding and can be used to create perfect lips. The product can also be easily removed without any issues, doesn’t cause a mess. The product does contain parabens though.
