My Experience with L.A. Girl Lipliner Pencil Cocoa:

Packaging: L.A. Girl Lipliner Pencil in the shade “Cocoa” comes in a sleek, sharpenable pencil type packaging. The pencil itself is black coloured with a matte finish and color-coded end; just keep them upside down and colour-coded ends make it easy to pick up the desired shade. The pencil bears only the shade name and no other detail. It comes sealed with cellophane that houses all the other details regarding the product. Also, there is no sharpener provided with this lip liner pencil.

Shade: L.A. Girl lip liner pencil in the shade “Cocoa” is a deep rustic brown coloured lip liner. It is a warm shade and looks pretty with minimal kind of makeup look.

Pigmentation: The lip liner provides a uniform good color pay off with just one swipe. There is no pigment skipping and it takes a couple of swipes to show its full color. I have pigmented upper lip, but this lip liner is able to conceal it while showing its true color over the lips. I have to go for 3 to 4 swipes to get the lip pencil show its true color on my pigmented lips. It does not crumble or feel heavy on the lips in the process.

Texture: The texture of the lip liner is creamy and I still find it very difficult to glide over the lips. It does not glide on its own and there is tugging and pulling in the process. When used as liner, the tugging and pulling is minimal, but when used on its own as a lip color, the tugging and pulling is more. I use the slant side of the tip to apply while filling in the lips. It makes the application easier as the pencil glides easily. There is no sheen to the shade and it settles into soft matte finish.

Formula: The formula of this lip liner is very lightweight and does not feel heavy on the lips. On the contrary, when compared with other shade that I reviewed recently, the shade Cocoa does not feel dry. But at the same time, it is not at all moisturising. However, I always wear it over a lip balm. Also, if I wear this color without exfoliating my lips, it clings to the dry patches for sure and settles into the lines. The actual product does not have any such fragrance, but the pencil itself smells weird.

Staying Power: This shade stays put for 3 to 4 hours without having any meal. After having a complete meal, it fades and barely leaves stain behind. On top of that, I have a habit of licking the center of my lips. The stain can easily be removed with a wipe itself. It is not completely transfer-proof, but it does not bleed or feather as well.

The shade is very easy to remove; I just swipe cotton over the lips once with Garnier Micellar Oil-Infused Cleansing Water or use Himalaya aloe vera moisturizing wipe. It gets removed completely and does not leave any stain behind.
