My Experience with L.A. Girl Pro Contour Powder:

This comes in a simple rectangular case, there’s no mirror or applicator provided. One thing about this range is that it has a lot of shades to choose from. I got this lighter tone for casual wear. It has a very mild highlighter which will be suitable for all skin tones, but if you are fair, this might not show up as much of a highlight. Even the shimmer content is not much, the highlight is not very reflective, you can easily wear it any time of the day. It is soft and smooth but nothing awesome. It could have been more concentrated and shiny. I think only beginners can try their hand at this.

Coming to the bronzer part, I quite like it since it is subtle but totally matches my skin tone. I wear NC 37 and it perfectly matches my own skin even when worn without a foundation. The color has very fine gold shimmer, but it is not much visible on the skin. Wearing it alone is also not an issue, it is a subtle bronzer and I like it for contouring nose a lot.

LA Girl Pro Contour Powder swatches on hand

Coming to the texture and lasting power, it is average, the powder is smooth but not pigmented to rave about. It is not chalky either. It lasts on me for 3 hours when worn alone. On a foundation or setting spray, it lasts 4 hours but nothing phenomenal.

Pros of L.A. Girl Pro Contour Powder:

  • Smooth, not chalky.
  • Subtle colors in the duo.
  • Good for beginners.
  • Good for day wear too.
  • Doesn’t seem to be “in your face.”
  • Good for contouring nose.

Cons of L.A. Girl Pro Contour Powder:

  • Too subtle for a highlight for me.
  • Doesn’t last too long on my oily skin.
  • No mirror or brush.
  • The bronzer has some amount of golden shimmer, not all may find it apt.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase L.A. Girl Pro Contour Powder?
Not really, but maybe in a deeper or more pigmented tone. Since it is subtle, beginners can try this duo. I need something darker and shinier now.
