LA Colors Glittering Starlet Eyeshadow Bette GP85

When it comes to eyeshadows, I stick to neutral colors like browns and peaches, but like many people who have fallen in love with all things colorful after joining IMBB, I too started looking for more “rangeen” options :D. Today, my review is about LA Colors Eye shadow Palette (which is named “Bette” for some unknown reason).  The best part about this palette is that it has colors from almost every color family (except brown :D) and novices with colors can experiment with them without burning a hole in their pocket. Oh right, that is the best part about this palette, it is for Rs. 446, so you get one color for less than 45 rupees, how awesome is that?

Quick Overview:

Set of 10 dazzling colors and dual-ended applicator infused with glitter.

Details:

Infused with glitter to bring out the glamorous side in your eyes. Step into the night life with style in these fabulous colors. Dare to indulge and give your eyes the look they deserve. Each set comes with 10 coordinating colors, complete with mirror and 2 dual-ended applicators.

Quantity:

6 g.

Price:

Rs. 525 (I got it for 446 :D).

LA Colors Glittering Starlet

Yellow shadow

If the palette was bigger, like way bigger, I could have played “holi” with it 😀

Yellow shadow

I have forever been looking for a leaf green eyeshadow which can be worn for a day look, this is and its the least pigmented of the lot, but I love it the way it is!

I simply love the pigmentation of this particular shade, its black 😀  This is the first time I am doing EOTD :happydance: I am so happy 😀 I hope you like them 😀

Products Used:

LA Colors Palette.

  • Shade #6 all over, including as a highlighter, applied with a very light hand.
  • Shade #9 as an overall lid color.
  • Shade #4 on the outer corner and crease.
  • Maybelline gel liner, didn’t use a mascara because I was feeling too lazy.

Look 2:

Saturday late night party 😀

Okay, I am never actually going to wear such a combination, I just can’t jump from neutrals to pink-and-blue 😛 but I can still do EOTDs, right? 😛

Products Used:

Shade #2 as an overall color, shade #10 all over lids, shade #3 on the crease and just a dot of shade #5 (the black shadow) on the very outer corner of the eye.  All shadows were applied wet.  NYX Charcoal pencil liner on the waterline, a thin line of Maybelline gel liner on the upper lash line.  By the way, as I have never done an EOTD before, I never knew that my eyes were actually deep brown rather than the coal black I always thought they were 😛

Now, to the pros and cons of this LA Colors Palette:

colorful shadows

Pros of LA Colors Glittering Starlet Eyeshadow – Bette GP85:

  • High pigmentation.
  • Not costly, not at all.
  • Has light glitter particles which look dressy without looking tacky or over the top.
  • Shades from most major color families is present in this one palette.
  • Soft , non-irritating powder eyeshadows.
  • Can be applied dry or wet.

Cons of LA Colors Glittering Starlet Eyeshadow – Bette GP85:

  • Fallout, yes major fallout. You need to dress up your eyes before doing anything else, even moisturizing. The glitter particles just scatter all over the face.  You will need to wipe them away with a wet wipe or cleansing milk before you can proceed with the rest of your makeup. The black shadow, which I love so much, also shows a tendency to fallout.  Using an eyeshadow primer is a must, with their tendency to fallout, the colors will be gone in no time if you don’t use a base to make them adhere to.

Final Verdict on LA Colors Glittering Starlet Eyeshadow – Bette GP85:

I love it! Its just awesome for experimentation, but “eyeshadow-veterans” might not like it so much because of the huge fallout.

  1. Oopsii I was wondering if I should go for LA Colors palettes but I think I’ll go for some neutrals of shimmery browns and bronze colors.. as I already have 120 color palette which doesnt have too many neutrals

Oopsii Look 2 first pic..whoaaa I like the shot…  Would love to see more eye make looks from you gal..

  2. Haha maybe its named after Bette Midler 😛 But I wonder if she wore such bright colors 🙂 Wow !!! Great review 😛 I loooove the colors 🙂 Wish I could get it in Pune ! Would buy it right away! 🙂 Excellent value for money !!!!!!

    1. Hey Oopsii & Nisha,
if you want to use such shadows where you face this problem of sparkles and shadow powder falling all over your face always wet your applicator a little bit and then apply te shadow. this will also reduce the overly shining appearnce and you will get the desired amount of shine and the colours will also deep. hope this technique will help you solve your problem. try it out and let me know. 😉

  3. these colors are so lively…so affordable too…i will definetly buy them if i am able to find them nearby….thnks for reviewing it:)
