LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint – Pin Up Review

Hello everyone,

My Experience with LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint –  Pin Up:

Packaging:  The L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paint comes in a squeezy tube with a golden cap. The tube is in the same color as the lip paint, which makes it very convenient to locate it in your stash. The outer packaging looks very similar to the Too Faced Melted lipsticks, but the Glazed Lip Paints are nothing like the melted lipsticks.  They are also considered similar to the OCC lip tars. They are quite close but I feel the Glazed Lip Paints are much more high maintenance products as compared to the lip tars, but like with the lip tars, you can mix up different shades of the L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paints and create your own unique colors.  The tube has a slanted tip for application. Applying directly from the tube is definitely a bad idea as it does not apply evenly nor can you get precise edges around the lips. The best way to apply it is with a lip brush if you want the complete intensity or just smudged with your finger, if you want a soft stain. Make sure you are careful when you squeeze the tube. It is very easy to squeeze out too much!

Color:  “Pin-up” is a beautiful pinkish-red which would look awesome on all skin tones. This is a shade which brightens up the face immediately. As shown in the lip swatch, you can wear it at its full intensity or just as a stain for everyday wear, even in an office environment.

Pigmentation:  As L.A. Girl claims, this product is indeed intensely pigmented. You need a very small amount to cover the entire lip area with a soft stain. You can add a bit more to build the color up to its full intensity.

Texture:  The texture of the Glazed Lip Paint is neither too thick nor too thin. It has the right consistency to spread easily on the lips but still maintaining the opaque color. It does not feel greasy or sticky on the lips. This product contains vitamin E and peppermint oil and it feels very comfortable on the lips. It does not dry out the lips. You might feel a slight tingling sensation when you apply it, due to the peppermint oil.

Finish:  The glazed Lip Paints have a very high shine glossy finish, when worn at the full intensity. This makes the lips look much fuller. When worn as a stain, there is a slight sheen, but nothing overly shiny.

Scent:  Because of the peppermint oil, the Glazed Lip Paint has a strong minty smell. I quite like this scent.

Longevity:  The glazed lip paint has a decent lasting power, for being so glossy. It lasts for atleast 3 to 4 hours on my lips, by the end of which I am left with a soft stain. When worn at its full intensity, it transfers a lot due to the glossiness. Drinking/snacking will not remove the product completely from your lips, but you will lose the intense glossy finish and will be left with the stain. If you are wearing it at its full intensity, make sure you use a lip liner, because this product is prone to bleeding and feathering.

Do I Recommend LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint –  Pin Up?

The L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paint is a very highly pigmented lip gloss, rather than a liquid lipstick. While the glossy finish it provides is very pretty and feels quite comfortable on the lips, it is a high maintenance product. It is not a product that can be worn in a second before you dash out the door! You also need to remember that you have such a glossy product on your lips to prevent smudging when you are wearing this. They are worth trying for the intense pigmentation, though. “Pin-up” is one of the most beautiful shades in this range. If you are planning to check out this range, do not miss out on “Pin-up!”

  1. You have selected such a beautiful shade, as always. But ya it seems high maintenance to me because of its texture and I am always biased towards matte lip colors.
