I often use lip liners to fill in my lips and I have lip liners from different brands. The formulation of LA Girl Lip Liner Pencil did not impress me much, so when the new range of ‘Shockwave Neon” lip liners got launched, I was looking forward for better performance. This range right now has around 4 shades, out of which I have picked up two shades. In this post, I am reviewing LA Girl Shockwave Neon Lip Liner Pop. Read on for more details on this product.

My Experience with LA Girl Shockwave Neon Lip Liner Pop:

The lip liner comes housed in a sharpenable pencil form but no sharpener has been provided by the brand with the pencil. It’s a color-coded packaging with a transparent cap on top which closes tightly in place. The pencil breaks very easily if you put a little bit of pressure when using the liner. This leads to product wastage. I also feel there should also have been a sharpener provided also with the pencil. Overall, the packaging is very simple and travel friendly.

LA Girl Shockwave Neon Lip Liner Pop is a pure fluorescent neon pink colour. Its shade name is true to its gorgeousness. It is the perfect definition of a neon lip liner and is surely meant for those who love bold and poppy colours. I feel this shade will suit all skin tones and oomph up your makeup look. Use it as a lip liner or lip color and change your lip makeup game. I prefer using it as a lip color.

This range has superb pigmentation and gives full colour payoff in a single swipe. It is pigment packed and the colour looks very rich on the lips; however, it doesn’t conceal lip pigmentation properly if you have very pigmented lips. I have lightly pigmented lips due to sun tan and it could smartly hide it. You can add more coats to achieve a more intense and opaque look.

The texture of this lip pencil is extremely soft and smooth. It glides on smoothly, without any tug or pull. The formula is creamy. The application is very smooth and even. This liner is devoid of any glitter or shimmer and imparts a nice velvety matte finish on the lips. It is very easy and comfortable to work with this lip liner. The formula is also quite hydrating and doesn’t dry out the lips, but if you have very chapped lips, then using a lip balm underneath is advisable. This lip liner doesn’t highlight dry patches. It however may highlight the fine lines of your lines and that totally depends on your lip texture and prepping routine. Also, once it sets, it remains smudge proof and waterproof.

The longevity of this lip liner is for about 6-7 hours on my lips. It does survive light meals but the color loses its intensity, but it fades away completely with oily meals. On primed lips, it lasts for longer duration. Removing this lip liner is pretty easy. Use any normal makeup remover or wet wipes and it gets wiped off completely.

As a lip liner, I feel the price is a bit on the higher side. If you love sporting neon lip shades, then this range is worth looking into. Overall, my experience with these pencils has been really good and they are really fun to add to your makeup look.
