La Mer The Powder Review

Hello, everyone.
From my recent haul of La Mer makeup, I do think that this product is the star of my haul. This review will be on La Mer The powder.
La Mer The Powder Review

About the Product:
La Mer The Powder is a luxurious finishing powder that is so incredibly light that it appears to float. Developed with symmetrically shaped, uniquely coated particles, it magnetically adheres to the skin. Air-spun seaborne particles—some of the lightest materials on earth—create an imperceptible finish that leaves skin looking flawless. You’re left with beautiful, translucent coverage.

My Experience with La Mer The Powder:

Packaging:
This powder comes in a huge tub, which holds a generous amount of product. The dispensing of the product is quite messy as is with most loose powder. You have to tap some product out in the cap to use it. There is also a powder puff provided which is of the silkiest softest material and feels truly luxurious on the skin, but I still like using a brush to apply powder as I prefer a light dusting as opposed to a powder puff which packs on the product. The packaging is quite heavy and not travel-friendly at all.

Texture:
This powder is so lightweight yet it is not dusty; you do get some powder flying when you tap the product out but it’s quite minimal. The powder is so soft and smooth; as you rub it between your fingers, it literally feels like silk. It is finely milled and does not feel chalky at all.

Application, Coverage, and Finish:
As the name states, this is a translucent powder. It offers little to no coverage, but I do find that somehow it makes my skin look even and my imperfections blurred to some extent. It gives a soft matte finish to the skin which does not feel drying even on my already dry skin type. It helps set my foundation and concealer in place and I have noticed very minimal creasing when I have used this powder to set my makeup. It also has good oil control properties and helps keep shine at bay without ever clinging on to dry patches or settling into creases.

close up

I absolutely love using this loose powder to “bake” my concealer and every time I do so, my under eye area looks so much brighter and smoother in appearance. It is completely undetectable on the skin.

Also, a little bit of product goes a long way and with the amount of product provided this powder will surely last me years. Hence, it is well worth the money. Out of all my La Mer Makeup, I definitely think if you had to splurge on one perfect item, this powder would be it. I am very pleased with this product and highly recommend it.
