Application:

Comes packaged in a white colored stick; with a metal colored gripper. This stick has an outer and inner pull open white colored caps. This stick has the same twist open mechanism, similar to lipsticks. Open pull both the caps and just twist to bring the product up to apply. My Experience with La Prairie Ultra Protection Stick SPF 40 for Eye, Lip, Nose:
I happened to pick two products from the la prairie sun protection range, one of them being la prairie sun protection emulsion face SPF 30 and la prairie ultra protection stick SPF 40. I picked this sun protection stick on an impulse, was a bit hesitant due to the balmy texture and price. Any ways the sales lady got me convinced and there I was buying this product. I have used it several times, during the hot and extreme summers.
It has a smooth balmy texture, which melts when comes in contact with skin, it is colorless. This balmy texture glides and applies smoothly. Can be applied directly using the stick or using fingers. However, if by mistake the product tends to get into my eyes, causing burning sensation and makes my eyes watery. Hence I have to be very careful whilst applying near my eye contour area. Can be used near the eyes, lips, ears and nose. In fact, the shape of the stick enables easy application, on the nose. For eyes I use my second last finger tips and slowly apply it around my eyes, keeping my eyes shut.
I have also tried using it on my lips, but lips tend to feel a bit patchy after sometime. So I avoid it on my lips, unless very necessary. I always use it along with my normal moisturizer or la prairie sun protection emulsion SPF 30, before applying powder or foundation and its fine. Does not feel oily nor sticky. I have not tried using eye concealer along with this sun protection stick, so cannot comment on same. I am sure it will work well, but actually I do not feel the need.
I first apply my daily moisturizer and then using the stick apply this sun protection on my nose and using finger tips around my eyes. After a few minutes I apply my foundation or just powder my face with my daily compact. The powder and compact sets well and I have faced no issues with same. This stick can be used by men and women, however it’s better not to share for hygiene purpose. Since this stick is portable, even if you tend to wash your face in the afternoon breaks, you can easily reapply. I use it quite often but not daily, I prefer using it on those days when I am going to be out in the sun for more time. Quantity is good enough; a little goes a long way. This stick may last me for almost a year and if used daily once a day easily for six months.

• Price, but cannot complain much being a high end product.
