La Roche-Posay Serozinc Review

Hi everyone!

It has been SO long since I’ve written a post on IMBB and I have missed it greatly. I have been busy with exams but now they are over, I will have more time to write more posts! Today, I will be reviewing the La Roche Posay serozinc toner. There was a quite a big hype around this toner and it was annoying because for a while, it was difficult to get this toner since it was only available in France. Now, you can purchase this toner from different websites .

My take on the La Roche-Posay Serozinc:

First, let me talk about the packaging. The toner comes in a metal spray can; since it is quite large and the packaging is bulky, it’s not very travel-friendly. The toner comes in a 150ml bottle and I’ve found that it lasts quite a while. When you press onto the spray nozzle, a very fine mist is sprayed out and I like to spray once or twice onto my face.

I absolutely love the feeling of the mist on my skin. It feels very cooling and seems to hydrate my skin well. It’s perfect in the morning when you’re feeling tired and dull because a spray of this toner onto your skin refreshes it. As for the ingredients in this toner, there are only three ingredients in it, which are water, zinc sulphate and sodium chloride. I love the fact that there are only three ingredients to this product; there are no harsh chemicals or alcohol, which can dry out the skin. It also has no perfume or fragrance.

Zinc sulphate is often used to treat acne because it is good for the skin, for a number of reasons; it is anti-inflammatory so it helps with the inflammation caused by acne and is also soothing on the skin. I can definitely agree that the toner feels quite soothing on the skin and also doesn’t irritate my skin at all. I have very sensitive skin, that can get irritated quickly, but this has no negative effect on my skin. This product claims to make skin look less greasy and shiny and I agree with that claim. It also isn’t stripping and doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight and uncomfortable.

The problem I have found with this toner is that it has had no long-term benefits for my skin. I still get breakouts and I have found that spraying this on top of a spot or breakout has no effect on them. Therefore I have found that this toner does not prevent or treat my breakouts. I think I simply like this toner because it feels refreshing when sprayed onto the skin, but it doesn’t actually do anything for my skin. This toner cost £8.50, which is pretty expensive for something that doesn’t actually do anything for my skin.

Pros of La Roche Posay Serozinc:

  • Minimal ingredients
  • Great for sensitive skin
  • No fragrance
  • Reduces grease and shine
  • Refreshing and hydrating on the skin

Cons of La Roche -Posay Serozinc :

  • Does not prevent breakouts
  • Does not treat breakouts
  • Expensive
  • Not travel-friendly
  • Can only be purchased online in certain countries.

Would I repurchaseLa Roche-Posay Serozinc?
No I don’t think so!

There are many good things about this product and I do love how it leaves my skin feeling, but it’s a shame that it doesn’t actually treat my spots in any way. It simply just feels like a hydrating spray of water on my face but I think paying £8.50 (and also the extra shipping fees) is just a bit too much for something that doesn’t do much for my skin. I don’t think I’ll buy this again but I do love spray toners and I’d love to find a cheaper alternative to this one.

Thanks for reading my review everyone and I will be back soon with another one!

    1. thanks neha! I’m not very sure Neha, I guess skin care products do have different effects on people’s skin so it may have worked better for them compared to my skin.

    1. Hi Garima, yeah i found it didn’t do anything major for my skin so i’m sure there must be better products out there!
