La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo
Hellooo beauties!!
How have you all been?
Summer is here, and so is my oily skin. Actually I have a normal to oily skin which becomes normal in winter but in summer it is all oily and becomes acne-prone . So I was suggested by a dermatologist to use this product to get rid of such breakouts. Let us see how much this product fared in my books.
Product Description:
EFFACLAR DUO is a complete skincare product that combines 4 active ingredients to act on the two main symptoms of skin with imperfections:
Severe localised imperfections:
Niacinamide and Piroctone Olamine to fight against bacterial proliferation and eliminate imperfections.
Pores clogged with sebum: the combination of LHA and Linoleic Acid unclogs pores while eliminating the accumulated dead cells responsible for blockage. These active ingredients are combined with soothing, anti-irritant La Roche-Posay thermal spring water to reduce redness.
Paraben-free formula.
How to use:
Apply morning and/or night to the entire face.
Price:
INR 950 for 40 ml tube. Products from this brand are being imported and marketed by L’Oreal India.
My experience with La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo:
This product claims to eliminate skin imperfections and unclog pores. When I heard about this product, I was surprised. I did not know that products to cure such specific skin problems also occur in the market. This product turned out to be a complete savior for me. I use it only in the morning after washing my face. It is although recommended to be used 2 times in a day.
It is a light weight non greasy cream gel with a matte texture and spreads easily on the skin. Very small quantity is required. After using it religiously for 3 weeks I started noticing changes, my skin felt way much clearer and light. Earlier it used to be all greasy by the end of the day, which has completely vanished. Now my skin feels fresh and oil-free even after a day of exhaustive work. It feels as if it has cleared all dirt and sebum out my skin pores and my skin is able to breathe again. My skin definitely looks clearer and healthier.
With continuous application of this cream I see a reduction in appearance of pimples on my skin. The only thing that disappointed me is that it does not clear out the acne scars completely, but definitely does fade them out upto some extent. It works excellent as a make-up base/primer because of it light non-greasy formula.
Pros of La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo:
• Very light non greasy formula.
• Can be used as a make-up base.
• Parabens free.
• Dermatologically approved.
• Nice packaging.
• Does not breakout.
• Visible changes on acne/pimples reduction.
• Skin looks much healthier.
Cons of La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo:
• Quite expensive.
• Might not be easily available, one has to order it online.
• Does not really work on removing acne scars completely.
Overall it is a nice cream and does what it claims to an extent. It will definitely work like a boon for sensitive skin beauties. But since it was recommended by a dermatologist to me, I would suggest consulting your doctor/dermatologist to seek advice on the usage of same.
