I am absolutely obsessed with lipsticks. I have 207307 lipsticks for sure in my vanity but then again, I cannot get enough of them. With liquid lipsticks being such a rage these days, I decided to pick up the LA Splash Lip Couture Waterproof Liquid Lipstick in the shade Latte Confession. The shade is the perfect mauve shade with a hint of grey undertones. This is the first mauve colour that is a part of my vanity! Anyways, if you want to know my views on this liquid lipstick, then keep on reading.
Price: $14 (excluding shipping charges)
Lip Couture’s rich waterproof shades will leave a velvety, matte finish that never transfers. The innovative formula glides on as liquid and dries matte. Use the Lip Couture Remover to effortlessly remove the lipstick and leave your lips super moisturized and cushiony soft.
Ingredients: Isoparaffin, Trimethilsiloxysilicate, Dimethicone, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Quaternium -18 Bentonite, Propylparaben
My Experience with LA Splash Lip Couture in Latte Confession:
Packaging: The packaging like any other high-end liquid lipstick. It has a gold cap and a clear tube which shows the true colour of the liquid lipstick. The packaging is nice. Also, the doe-foot applicator is a little different than the basic ones. This one is a little thin on side and is quite large.
Pigmentation: The colour is pretty pigmented and the shade is gorgeous!
When I swatched it on my hand, it felt extremely soft and liquidish. In about 30 seconds, it dried up completely and there was no shine at all which was incredible. It gives a startling matte finish instantly which looks stunning. The bad part is that it dries down so quickly and the lipstick is a little blotchy when you apply it. You have to work with it a little to get all the areas of your lips filled in properly. I did only two swipes (should have done 4 for the proper look, but it’s okay). It doesn’t just dry down quickly but it also settles into fine lines; I used it without any lip balm to see how drying the formula is. Well, I highly suggest that you use a nice lip balm and also exfoliate your lips before applying this lipstick.
I love the fact that it has no fragrance at all and also that it does not transfer whatsoever. It did not go on my teeth, my coffee mug or anything at all. It did not even bleed around the chin area.
Besides all this, it stayed for 8 hours even after eating so much. I wore it only for 8 hours because it was so drying and since it is winter, we all are facing the chapped lips situation! Apart from staying on like glue on my lips, it was a little pain to take it off. LA Splash recommend using their lip couture remover but I did not buy that. I use olive oil to remove this because that is how I remove all my makeup. It took me quite a while to take the lipstick off completely. So, use any oil-based remover to take this off.
Pros of LA Splash Lip Couture in Latte Confession:
• Good packaging.
• Doesn’t transfer.
• Beautiful colour.
• No fragrance.
• Matte finish.
• Highly pigmented.
Cons of LA Splash Lip Couture in Latte Confession:
• Dries down too quickly.
• Settles into fine lines.
• Difficult to remove.
• Extremely drying (use a good balm and exfoliate before applying).
• Goes on a little blotchy.
IMBB Rating: 3.5/5
Would I Repurchase LA Splash Lip Couture in Latte Confession?
I do love the colour and the fact that it is longwearing so I am going to continue using this beautiful shade. I don’t think I will repurchase it because I want to try different lipsticks.
