Lakmé announces Manish Malhotra as the Grand Finale Designer for Lakmé Fashion Week, Winter/ Festive 2011
July 5, 2011: Lakmé, the contemporary Indian beauty expert, has announced iconic fashion designer Manish Malhotra as the Grand Finale Designer for Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/ Festive 2011, scheduled from August 16 – 21 in Mumbai. Manish Malhotra is the first Lakmé Grand Finale designer who showcased his Shimmer Shine Sparkle collection way back in 1999 and presented the Free Spirit Collection in 2007. This year, he is poised to bring to life the high performance long-wear makeup range, Lakmé ABSOLUTE. This will be the third time where he will be showcasing his collection at the Lakmé Grand Finale.

:rotfl: tapas actually na mac’s kajal is more of less the same price.. may be 100 -200 more so people would prefer that over lakme’s . also in small cities where kajals are available at rs 100 , people would be really skeptical of paying that high a amount. Atleast I think so. 🙂

I totally agree, with international brands like MAC and YSL and other…we also have to bear the brunt of import duties. But with Lakme I fail to understand why such a shot up in price. Yeah toh aapna desi brand hai, it is manufactured here, even if they say it is all the NEW IMPROVED product line with IMPROVED QUALITY, etc…etc…it should be AFFORDABLE.
They can compete on the quality and beat the price of all the international brands…and try to capture the market. Yeha toh ulta hi ho raha hai…
