Lakme 9 to 5 Lipstick in the shade 61 Terracotta
Hey lovelies,
How’s the week going on? First of, hearty congrats to Rati, Sanjeev and Ida for the Phillipino MBB and to Rauni and Jomo as well, you guys just rock!!
Thanks to Neha, I have started noticing that I may not have enough lipsticks in my kitty :haanji: Also, I was always a little partial towards mauve-purple-berry-toned lipsticks for some reason. I haven’t found many that appeal to me, but hey, the more the merrier right?
When I was getting married, it was an absolute mad rush and I remember I had some skin treatment and was asked not to go out, but still the next minute had to travel by train to get some alterations done and I seized a moment to quickly get a foundation, eyeliner and a lipstick – Lakme 9 to 5 in the shade 61 Terracotta.
Let me quote something from the site:
Product Information:
A high performance, color fix formula developed in Italy; this creamy lipstick combines amazing comfort with staying power that keeps you looking fresh for hours.
Directions For Use:
1. After lining your lips with a matching lip liner, fill the outlined area of your lips with these rich lip colors.
2. Wait for two minutes for the color fix action to take effect. Now, your lip color is set to last for hours.
Honestly speaking, I am sure they added the lip-liner part after people complained. Because when I was getting all this, at least 2 girls came and complained that the lipstick ain’t long-lasting at all as the product is advertised and the SAs were telling them to buy a matching lip liner, LOL, what a way to sell products.
So, I got this nude-mauvey color which has brown undertones. The lipstick looks purpley-brown. I can’t even explain the color, hehehe. It is a creamy formulation and the consistency is very thick, but the long-lasting claims definitely are blahhhh.
Let’s just sum it up:
Pros:
1) Creamy opaque formula.
2) Does not settle in the lines.
3) Does not feather or bleed.
4) Sets to a matte finish.
5) Can be worn during the day and night.
6) Moisturizing – doesn’t dry the lips out.
7) Great packaging- very high-end types.
Cons:
1) The 9 to 5 claim is such a sham. It lasts like 2-3 hours max and you shouldn’t eat or drink.
2) I tried it with and without a lip balm – I give it 2 hours max, might help with the matching lip liner thing.
3) At around 350 rupees, its a tad expensive than its Maybelline/Colorbar counterparts.
Overall, the lipstick range is quite okay to be missed. I wanted to like this one as Lakme was the first ever lipstick I had. I kind of have a wierd affinity to it π
Will I Repurchase or Recommend It?
Nope. There is better fish in the market π
