Today I am reviewing a latest launch which has become a rage among makeup geeks. We have had a couple of other shades already reviewed from this range and I am adding another wonderful shade to this list of reviews. I am talking about the new ‘Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip and Cheek Color’. The shade am reviewing is ‘Coffee Lite’ and I strongly feel it is my MLBB shade. I can literally wear it every day. When I first saw a few promos and a couple of reviews about these, I was like, “Ah! these must be just another product from the 9 to 5 range which would probably not turn out that great for me” so I never took the pain to even walk up to the counters and try these. But a couple of days ago, when I was at the Lakme counter, the SA made me try these and I did. And, boy, did I fall in love with the range! I am a sucker for lip stains, matte lipsticks and anything that is long-lasting, needs fewer touch-ups and something that does not stain my lips. So I had to pick up this one. Read on to know how this one fared for me.

Packaging:
The packaging is simple, nothing fancy here. The product comes in a sleek, rose gold tube packaging with a screw-on lid which has an applicator attached. The packaging is definitely travel-friendly, looking at how sleek and sturdy it is. The applicator does a decent job. I am glad the brush at the end is not too bulk; it is slender and picks up the right amount of the product which can be conveniently applied in simple strokes.
My Experience with Lakme 9 to 5 Coffee Lite Weightless Matte Mousse Lip and Cheek Color:
The product has a semi-thick creamy consistency. It is not runny at all and gives a rich color in one swipe. The color is a brown with pink undertones but does not really spell out a lot of pink. The finish is powder matte as claimed and leaves a light, soft feel on the lips. So, like I said, I was sold as soon as I tried this shade on for a few reasons. Firstly, the application is hassle-free, the product feels super-light on the lips; it is as if you haven’t really worn anything on the lips. Also, it turns matte in a few seconds and then doesn’t budge.
My only concern with this is that it can get chalky after a while. I am not complaining about the staying power. It definitely is not a ‘9 to 5’ kind of formula, but has a decent staying power of at least 4 hours with a little bit of snacking in between. This is when it starts to get a little chalky. It tends to settle into the fine lines and you might want to touch up to even up the finish. So I feel it is not for people with extremely dry or chapped lips. You might need to prep up your lips prior using this.
But anyhow, since I haven’t had issues of extreme dry lips, this works wonderfully for me and is perfect for office wear as it is an MLBB shade for my skin tone. Talking about this particular shade being used a blush. While the texture of the product can work for a blush, I feel this would work as a decent blush for fairer skin tones to get a natural flush of color but not for deeper skin tones like me. Nevertheless, I still love the product.

⦁ Settles into the fine lines.
⦁ Not for very dry or chapped lips.
⦁ This shade would not work as a blush for deep skin tones.
