By now, this wave of the new launch by Lakme must have reached you. I have by no means repented my investment in this range and I am thoroughly enjoying using and reviewing this range – “Weightless Matte Mousse Lip and Cheek Color.” No doubt, I had to bother my husband to take me to the beauty store again and again, till I exhausted buying them 😛 But I am so happy to be sharing my experience with them here. Good Job Lakme! Here’s one more shade, “Fuchsia Suede” that’s up for review on IMBB today 🙂
My Experience with Lakme 9 to 5 Fuchsia Suede Weightless Matte Mousse Lip and Cheek Color:
I must say I have been very pleased with Lakme lipsticks in the past. Some of the must-haves from my list are Scarlet Drill, Rosy Sunday. I even have a back up each of these two shades 😛 Then, the Absolute range, it has some gems too. Coming back to the product in hand, every matte lover like me dreams of a plush matte which would not feel too drying and yet comes out full. Lakme has done a good job with colors too. Apart from a bold purple, they have shades for everyone. I hope they do expand their range of colors later on.
“Fuchsia Suede” is a bright pink shade, but it’s not neon. I was quite happy to see that it did not look crazy bright pink even for day wear honestly. I think this can be toned down by mixing a bit of the “Rose Touch” shade. Otherwise, it has blue tones to it and can be worn by skin tones that are not yellow. Otherwise, this really brightens up the face and can be a nice spring color. I wore a similar colored saree on Diwali but I did not own it then 😛
This color lasts on me easily for 4-5 hours and vanishes a bit from the inner lips when you have your meals, but still, nothing stark. You can survive the day easily with minor touch ups. This keeps lips full, no cracks can be seen. I have not faced any major dryness with them either. Is it in my mind that Crimson Silk has been slightly drying? Other shades have been pretty okay for a lip cream, in terms of dryness for normal lips. Yes, you do need a smooth surface of lips to pull this neatly off. For some time, this looks moist but settles to more matte within an hour. It does not bleed or stain thankfully. You can easily remove it with a remover at the end of your day.
I like the cute applicator as well. It is kind of bendy, but you will have to dip it more than a couple of times to get a proper layer. You need a dab or a dot for both cheeks to use as a blush, as this is much pigmented. Use this blush and then powder it with compact to tone it down. I have got 4 hours of blush wear time too.
