Recently, Lakme launched a day crème under the 9 to 5 range which claims to induce an ‘instant’ glow to the skin. The word ‘instant’ catches everyone’s attention these days owing to the busy lifestyle. I saw the advertisement and I really admired how Shraddha Kapoor looked. The claims were pretty acceptable too, so I went ahead and bought it. Let’s get to the review!
INR 79 for 20 g. Available in 2 sizes.
My Experience with Lakme 9 to 5 Insta Light Instant Glow Crème:
The packaging is all silver with pink accents and it looks quite attractive. The silver tube comes housed in a silver carton that contains the details like claims, ingredients, price etc. I am glad that Lakme finally mentioned their complete ingredient list which is missing in most of their products!
The tube has a tiny nozzle that dispenses little amount of the product at a time. The crème is pinkish-white in color and under light it looks sort of shimmery. It has a very overpowering, sweet fragrance that lingers for quite some time. I am not a big admirer of the smell. Sensitive noses would not like it.
The texture of the crème is pretty light-weight, non-greasy and it gets absorbed very easily. It feels almost invisible on skin after it sets. It pretty much does nothing! Once it is completely absorbed it controls the sweat and oil, and keeps the skin shine free. This effect lasts for around 2.5 hours after which oil and sweat return, maybe due to summer. It somewhat tends to highlight the dry areas of the face. In other words, it is not meant for dry skinned beauties.
Coming to the ‘glow’ part, it kind of fails over there too because I did not notice any prominent radiance or anything. I expected my face to be ‘illuminated’, thanks to the claims they made, but all it did was impart a feeble glow which does not stay for quite long.
So, in a nutshell, this is a miss for me and Lakme as well and it can be skipped since it doesn’t really does anything for your skin.
Pros of Lakme 9 to 5 Insta Light Instant Glow Crème:
• Nice, attractive packaging.
• Comes with an outer carton that has all the necessary details.
• I like the finish it gives once it sets; a good matte finish.
• Controls oil and sweat.
• Crème is very light-weight and non-greasy.
• Maintains the skin shine-free for upto 2.5 hours.
• Imparts a feeble glow.
• Reasonably priced.
Cons of Lakme 9 to 5 Insta Light Instant Glow Crème:
• Contains parabens.
• Claims are not at all true!
• Doesn’t do much in giving that ‘instant’ glow and the effects do not last long enough.
• I am not an admirer of the fragrance.
• Tends to highlight the dry areas.
• Just a normal day crème, nothing spectacular about it.
• The sunscreen details are not given which is pretty weird.
Would I Recommend Lakme 9 to 5 Insta Light Instant Glow Crème?
It is affordable, but it is not any extraordinary crème. I won’t recommend it.
