Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Color – Almond Saturday Review

Hello everyone,

Since the launch of the 9 to 5 range of lip colors from Lakme, I have been checking out the new shades each time I visit the beauty store.  In the recent beauty haul that I did a few days ago, I picked up two shades and here is the review of the shade “Almond Saturday.”

Price:
Rs. 425/- for 3.6 ml.

My Experience with Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Color – Almond Saturday:

The packaging has been described a lot many times in the previous reviews. I would not repeat the same; only that this is gorgeous and travel friendly.  The only glitch is that the tube is not color coded in any way, so if you have more than one from the same line, you have to remember the names.

The shade is the worst in my collection. It is a muddy brown with purple undertones and lots of unwanted gritty shimmer. Now that I have so many lip colors in my collection, it is difficult to point out the best, but it would take me no time to point out the worst. No color ever looked so bad on my NC 42 skin tone ever. No matter how much I love neutrals, I can never wear this shade, not even with a lip gloss or a liner beneath. This is just BAD!

It stayed on my lips for more than 5 hours without feathering, with mini meals in-between. Lip liner can be totally skipped with the shade. I believe with a lip liner, the staying power would definitely increase considerably. The color does not vanish completely but neither does it leave any cheap stain behind, but the shimmers travel all over the face when the color starts to fade.

There is no funny smell; only a bit of a cosmetic smell which disappears almost immediately on application. I absolutely hate the shade and texture of this one in particular due to the gritty shimmers.

Please skip this one….PLEASE!
