Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Liner in Red Alert Review
Hey there!

A red lip is something most people reserve for epic occasions. It’s that one look that can make or break the outfit. Too dark and you run the risk of being referred to as a vampire (not a bad thing any more) or too neon and you look like a part of a Joker’s troupe. For me, a classic red lip with semi bold eyeliner is an everyday look; maybe because I am flamboyant by nature, or that I have very defined features and the red lip looks great against my dusky skin. But whatever the reason, for the past 1-1.5 years, I have had a red lip more often than not. By the middle of the day, my Maybelline Fatal Red settles into my lip lines and needs to be reapplied. Something the lazy bum in me, hates with a burning passion. Somehow, I never quite entered the big bad world of lip liners, maybe because I never really understood their use, but nevertheless, seeing the following lip liner on sale on an online portal, something just clicked. I knew I needed to buy it!

My Take on Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Liner in Red Alert:
It comes in the classic wooden lip pencil style. It looks pretty attractive with its champagne body and gold writing, but somehow, the gold on champagne combination, makes it very hard to read the information on the pencil properly. The cap keeps your creamy lip liner tip safe. It is shorter than I expected it to be, but that is the peril of online shopping.
I adore it! There are no two ways of saying this. This lip liner is so incredibly creamy and pigmented that it looks incredible even on its own. This lip liner is a bright matte blue-based red, that just makes my heart sing. It is stunning!
It lasts a decent 4-5 hours as a lipstick, topped with a dash of lip gloss. If you decide to use it as a matte lipstick, it lasts about 3-4 hours looking incredible. As a lip liner, it makes my lipstick last 8-9 hours. The only problem is that it is so pigmented that it overwhelms my lip colour. It changes the tonality of my red, making it look a lot more blue based than it actually is.
Pros of Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Liner in Red Alert:

I agree wholeheartedly! Red is the perfect pick me up during Delhi winters! *announce*
Nice post. I,ve always wanted to try red. Not sure which one will suit me 🙁
If you are dusky, warm reds will really suit you to a “T”. But if you want to be adventuruous, I suggest you try cool toned reds because they just highlight your dusky tone and leave you with a very highlighted complexion. Take it from a dusky chick! *preen* *preen*
looks so good.. been a long time since I bought any lipliners.. *happydance*
