My Experience with Lakme 9 to 5 matte lipstick Burgundy break:
Packaging: The packaging is spot on gorgeous. The rose gold tube with a carton looks so attractive. The tube is not only classy, but also sturdy and can be easily tossed into handbags, without having to worry about the cap falling off. The bullet is flat, unlike the pointy ones. I do not find it any of a hassle to use. I just wish they’d be color coded, in a stash they look like alike and consume time having to search them.
Shade: Burgundy break is a really vampy, deep burgundy shade. It screams winter! But personally, I feel it is a little too loud for me for normal wear.
Texture and pigmentation: The formula is actually good. It gives comfortable wear on lips. The smooth and light texture glides on lips effortlessly. But at the same time, it tends to highlight dryness and fine lines. However, I’ve noticed that how much I try, the finish tends to look patchy. I’ve found similar problems with dark shades. Pigmentation is bang on; one swipe is enough to get the color but two swipes are required for the clean finished look.
Lasting power: As this is a deep shade, it lasts for a great deal of time. On an average, it lasted for 4.5 to 5 hours with meals and sipping water in-between. But it transfers quite a bit, which is a painful sight to witness, when you’re in a group. Lipstick stains on cups and spoons are a no-no for me. When it fades, it leaves behind a bright tint, which must be removed. At the end of the day, it was pretty drying on my lips. If you’re up against sporting such deep shades, then this would be a good pick.
