Lakme recently launched their ‘9 to 5 Naturale’ range. I purchased their ‘9 to 5 Naturale Matte Sticks Lipsticks’ and today I am reviewing the shade ‘Rouge Metro’. Now, let’s get into the details.

Product Description:
Nothing enhances a makeup look quite like a picture perfect and healthy pout. Lakmé’s all new matte sticks’ collection heals and softens lips with the goodness of aloe vera and honey. It has semi matte texture with a hint of shimmer, delivers a long lasting finish and is available in 15 intense shades that complement Indian skin tones.

Application:
Step 1: Start applying from the centre of your upper lip.
Step 2: Follow the contours of your lips with a light but sturdy hand.
Step 3: Similarly, glide the product across your lower lip.

My Experience with Lakme 9 to 5 Naturale Matte Sticks Lipstick Rouge Metro:

Packaging:
This entire 9 to 5 Naturale range comes in a beautiful packaging. This lipstick comes in a pretty, shiny green rose and pink ombre crayon type packaging; I have to twist it up and down to get the bullet out. It’s a pretty, simple, lightweight, and attractive tube. It also comes with a nice black outer box with details on, but they all look the same, so it’s quite difficult to identify the shade. Also, the name is not properly highlighted on the tube; the font is too small to understand. Otherwise, it’s a beautiful packaging.

Shade and Pigmentation:
My summer is never complete without a bright lipstick so I picked up the shade “Rouge Metro”, which is a bright orangey red shade. This shade is apt for all skin tones and looks absolutely stunning on the lips. It looks bright and fresh, which is great for summers. It has finely milled shimmer particles that give golden orange hues on the lips but do not look overpowering at all. The shade is well-pigmented and requires only a few strokes to achieve an opaque color. It covers lip pigmentation too.

Texture and Quality:
This “Naturale” range is actually a metallic lipstick range that carries a natural finish. This lipstick has a soft and smooth texture that glides well without any tugging. The formula feels comfortable and lightweight on the lips. The lipstick gives a natural metallic tint to the lips, but it is not too shiny and not too noticeable either.

It’s not like other shiny metallic lipsticks – it is a very balanced one. I am not a fan of the metallic finish, but this particular range looks stunning on the lips. It sets to a perfect matte texture with a subtle glow. The formula is transferproof, smudgeproof and waterproof, too. I am amazed by the quality as it looks beautiful without creating any mess.

Since this lipstick has aloe vera, it imparts a decent amount of hydration to the lips, which keeps the lips soft. But if you have extremely chapped lips, you’ll need a lip balm underneath. As the time passes, this lipstick makes my lips a bit dry. Generally, it never feels patchy, but it’s better to exfoliate the lips before application. Sometimes, it clings to dry patches. The bullets are not strong enough in this range and they might break easily. In fact, one of the lipsticks is already broken.

Staying Power:
Coming to its longevity, this lipstick lasts throughout the day – around 8 hours – and it still looks good after that. Also, it can survive meals well. After having oily food, my inner lip line looks a bit faded, but that’s not an issue as you can easily reapply this lipstick. It never settles into the fine lines and it behaves well despite being a matte lipstick. You can easily remove this shade with a wipe but it leaves a stain behind.

Overall:
I am obsessed with this range and the subtle metallic matte finish it imparts. I don’t like shimmery lipsticks, but this one offers the perfectly balanced look. The only thing that bothers me is that Lakme offers only 2.2 g of the product which is lesser than the usual.
