Hello, beauties!
Lakme has recently launched a huge range of lipsticks called Lakme 9 to 5 Primer + Matte Lipstick with 30 shades. I was not a big fan of their products but now I really like their lipsticks, and I was excited to get my hands on these lipsticks. This range is an improved version of their previous 9 to 5 Matte Lipstick range. Most of the shades are similar and few shades are new. So, I picked up three pretty shades, and today, I am going to share the review of the shade Maple Map. Let’s get into the review.

My Experience with Lakme 9 to 5 Primer + Matte Lip Color Maple Map:
Packaging: Lakme 9 to 5 primer + Matte Lipsticks come in a gorgeous rose gold colored metallic finish packaging along with a cardboard box that contains some information. This pretty tube looks so nice and I love its outer look. Now if you hold the tube, it feels that something is loose inside it. It is not so strong. Initially, I felt that it was broken but no, it always feels like that. Yet, it works smoothly and the cap is tight enough to carry it safely. Also, the lipstick comes with the shade name’s sticker at the bottom of the tube but there is no shade indicator, so they all look similar in my tray and it’s quite difficult to spot a particular shade from my stash.
Shades and Pigmentation: This new range has 30 shades, which is definitely a huge range. It has a good variety of shades from red to brown and also has some nude shades. The shade Maple Map is a very pretty nude shade for almost all skin tones, but best for medium to fair skin tones. It is actually a warm toned peachy nude color, with a hint of brown in it that instantly makes me look fresh and beautiful. I love such warm nude and it is definitely, one of my favorite everyday shades, which complements my skin tone perfectly and it goes with any makeup look. Also, this shade is much pigmented that only needs two swipes to get the perfect color pay off. It doesn’t contain any shimmer which is a good thing from Lakme.
Texture and Quality: This lipstick has a nice smooth creamy texture that glides easily on the lips and occupies my lips evenly. It has a soft finish that doesn’t feel patchy on lips and never highlights dry patches. The formula feels very light and comfortable on the lips. The texture is quite hydrating as well, which makes lips soft and moisturizes them well. I have normal to dry lips and it never makes my lips dry. It really hydrates them for long. I can easily apply it on lips but due to its round tip, it is quite difficult to draw a perfect cupid bow. But, I can manage it. Once it settles down, it gives a beautiful non-drying matte finish, which I absolutely love. Such soft velvety matte finish looks very gorgeous.
Though it is a matte lipstick the color does transfer. Still, it never looks faded after the transfer, as lots of the color still remains on my lips. It also never smudges or bleeds, which is a good thing. This formula never settles into the fine lines or crease. I must say that it is a great lipstick range which has a beautiful formula, and they claim that it contains primer in it which helps to hold it for long.
Staying Power: This lipstick also claims that it will last around for 12 hours but it doesn’t last for full 12 hours. It stays for around 5-6 hours on the lips. I think the lasting power is good but not that long. It decently survives the meal but after a heavy lunch, it does fade from the center of my lips and then it needs reapplication. But, it never looks messy on lips and the formula is easy to wipe off without any stain left behind.
Overall, I personally like this range, and especially, this particular shade has totally won my heart. Also, it has a nice sweet fragrance in it which doesn’t bother me like the other absolute range does. Though it is not that long lasting like their claim, I am happy with it. Only, I really don’t notice any huge benefit of the primer it has. This primer makes the formula better but can’t help it to last for long.
