Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Mousse Foundation Review

New launch again on IMBB and this time it is our very own Lakme. They have come up with this weightless foundation in 4 shades, in the 9 to 5 range. I got the shade 03, Beige Caramel. Read on to know how it fared for me.

My Experience with Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Mousse Foundation:

The foundation comes in an inverted slender tube with a golden cap. The body is rose gold, like the typical 9 to 5 range. The shade name is mentioned on the outer paper carton and on the tube as well. I quite like the slim handy tube, which can be easily carried along in makeup pouch.

Lakme has totally taken a firm stand in designing the product as per the claims. It is really weightless and feels like nothing on the skin. It adds a velvety texture to the skin and no matter how many layers you put on the face, the foundation does not look cakey.

product description

As much as I love the lightweight texture, I have some complains regarding the pigmentation. If you are blessed with flawless skin, this can be an ideal pick for you. But it is so less pigmented that I would call it a BB cream at the most. It does not cover blemishes or acne marks. But it definitely gives a fresh dewy look to the face which is much coveted, especially in the winters.

Overall I really like the product, mainly due to the texture and also I was lucky to get my skin tone match; but the lesser number of shades and low pigmentation is something that might be a turn off. Also the 4 shades available are very close to each other, so do not expect a variety there as well.

  1. It is so difficult to find that perfect shade in Lakme. Colorbar and Faces are so much better in shade range. I have used Lakme foundation just once and don’t think they experiment much. But at least they didn’t add shimmers to the foundation. 😛

  2. I actually prefer low coverage foundations, even though my skin is not all that great. Mostly for the feel, and for a day-to-day more natural look. I pull out the high-coverage (ColorStay, Fit Me, InFallible) for days when I want to OOMPH.

tl;dr: It sounds good! I hope I can pick one up in my shade. 🙂

    Thanks for the review!

  3. I was tempted to buy this when I saw Shraddha in its add.Its looking so similar to lakme cc cream but its price is
more than the double. So i guess i will stick to my cc ceam as I like that a lot.

    1. as long as you are happy with the CC cream well and good as this is also an everyday wear just like the CC cream. Very similar I would say except for the extremely lightweight texture of this one!

  4. The consistency looks (from the swatch) similar as that of the lakme mattreal mousse foundation which has decent coverage. I think this one is too expensive for the quantity and performance.

    1. it is lighter in texture compared to the mattreal mousse foundation and yes, that one has better coverage compared to this.
