Lakme Absolute Blue Drama Stylist Shadow Duos Review

Hello everyone,

Taking a mini break from lipsticks, I am reviewing this eyeshadow duo by Lakme from their “Absolute” range. I am not a big fan of blues when it comes to eye makeup, but I really wanted to give this shade a try, so here is the review for you all.

My Experience with Lakme Absolute Blue Drama Stylist Shadow Duos:

The packaging is attractive with a black outer paper carton with a window to see the color inside. The shadow comes fitted in a black plastic base which holds the tiny applicator as well. So if you throw off the outer packaging, you have to figure out where to keep the applicator. The shadow case is compact and the transparent lid shuts with a click, so you can carry it with you in your makeup pouch. Other than the flimsy and useless tiny dual ended sponge applicator, I have nothing much to complain about with regards to the packaging.

The texture of the shadow is super smooth and blends really well. The SA said it can be used both wet and dry, but I used it dry as I am not very comfortable with wet shadow application. The pigmentation is medium to buildable and a primer would add to the vibrancy and staying power of the shadow. There is minimum fallout which is a huge pro when it comes to powder shadow application.

Light blue eyeshadow

Being a duo, the two shades are supposed to complement each other and thankfully in this case, they do so. You can create a full look with the two shades. Both the shades go really smooth on the lid and do show up like patchy shadows.

The lighter shade is minty blue which brightens up the eyes and the darker shade, which is a navy blue with shimmers, can be used on the crease and as a liner as well. I quite like how the shades look together on my lids. I generally pair it with lighter shades of pink on the lips as the colors on eyes speak for themselves. Also, it would look over the top with this the lid and bright/dark lip shade.

The staying power is different for the two shades which is a bit weird. The lighter shade tends to fade sooner than the darker shade. With a primer though, the staying power improves to stay on for at least 4 hours; after that you have to touch up. I am not very impressed with the staying power, but overall this is a nice shade to add to your kitty if you love colors on the eyes.
