My Experience with Lakme Absolute Copper Spark Illuminating Lip Shimmer Lipstick:
I have actually grown up seeing my mom using Lakme & Revlon Lipsticks. I remember, she had a few shades in the past similar to the browns of this range. I have picked three shades of brown, Bronze Flake, Chestnut Shimmer and Copper Spark. All the three are very close shades. I personally do not like the metallic browns but picked these shades for my mom, as they suit her so well.
The packaging is really nice & classy. They have added a classy touch to their boring packaging. The lipstick comes in a regular glossy black colored cardboard box. This box bears product details like shade name, shelf life, etc. But sadly, they have not added any ingredient list of the product. The lipstick tube is dark grey in color with the tagline of the range mentioned on it in white fonts. The packaging looks so elegant. The lipstick tube bears a sticker at its base indicating the shade name. The tube is not color-coded, so I need to check the shade at its base. The lipstick is very handy and travel friendly. Its cap shuts with a click sound and ensures that it will not come off in your handbag. The lipstick’s twist up mechanism has a locking system, which makes sure that the bullet will not get damaged. Overall, the packaging is really good.
“Copper Spark” is a soft copper brown. It is basically a reddish brown lipstick with coppery hints into it. This shade will easily flatter almost all Indian skin tones. It looks subtle and does not give any vampy look. It has some silver & copper shimmers finely milled into it. They are not over-powering. So, the lipstick does not look very glittery or gaudy. They just add a nice metallic finish to the lipstick. I personally feel that these browns make me look older. It gives me a mature kind of look. So, it is not very flattering for me, but, it looks good on my mom. The lipstick has a regular vanilla fragrance, which is mild and non-bothering for me but some may find it a little irritating.
I really love how pigmented these lipsticks are! One swipe is good enough to impart semi-opaque finish. You will need at least two or three swipes to build up the color and make the color look intense. Just two swipes will be sufficient to hide the pigmentation of the lips and to give you an even finish. I find this one a little bit on frostier side but later it sets to a velvet finish.
Coming, to the texture of the lipstick, almost all Lakme lipsticks come with a lovely texture and these are also very buttery in texture. It has a soft and smooth texture; hence the lipstick glides effortlessly on the lips without any dragging. It feels so light and comfortable on the lips. It does not feel heavy even upon layering. The creamy formula makes the lipstick to transfer a bit but there is no heavy transferring of the product. It has a moisturizing formula, which keeps my lips moisturized for long but it might not work for very dry lips. I have not noticed any smudging or bleeding of the lip color.
The lipstick has great staying power, despite its creamy texture. It stays for 5-6 hours with a little sipping while it lasts for approx. 4 hours with full meals. The color loses its intensity with a complete meal and the shimmers are left behind giving slightly chunky finish. It does settle into the fine lines of the lips. Removing the lipstick is also very easy.
Overall, this range has an array of shade and an amazing quality but I love the Sculpt Studio Hi Definition Matte range better.
