I know I have too many reds, but trust me, I don’t think all reds look OTT, you have to find your own red, that brightens he face and could be worn without second thought,and ladies this is one such red,I think the shade is a tailor made for me, I am so happy with the kind of red it is.
Till date chambor rubis rouge used to be my go to red lipstick, then I hear these days they aren’t available any more but this one is just what I want, rubis rouge is a little bright, this one though it deeper but brightens the face till it glows, and the finish is matte, though the na,e says creme, but I love it.
These new lipsticks are pigmented but these will remind you of the earlier absolute ones in terms of pigmentation, but trust me the colors are really nice.No maroons but all nice peaches and bricks and pinks too.The packaging seems to have become a little bulky and shiny.
The texture of the lipsticks is creamy and very pigmented, this red one is insanely pigmented trust me, you need very less and you could also use it as a stain, I thought it will not be matte but it is matte on me, the feel after it sets is sticky I don’t know why it is so, may be because it sets, and it does not set to a dry finish but in order to last longer, it sets to a sticky finish.
SO it has awesome pigmentation and soft but sticky texture and the color is a really really classic blood red, and I think it will look very vintage with a winged black liner and hence I am very comfortable wearing this red.
It stays on and on without meals, it stays almost six hours without meals and with meals it would be a little patchy but still the tint of red is very much there for 3 plus hours. I liked it because it looks matte and the texture makes it easy to shape the lips.
On the downside, the fact that it is sticky might make it less drying but yes it is still a little heavy and drying, I dont have dry lips so I cannot say but yes it is not moisturizing either. So dry lips, will have to think twice.
