Price: Rs. 800
Grey ash and Tempting Teal have been reviewed. I picked this shade almost three weeks back as I thought this shade is indeed a must-have. At the moment, I own Coloressence, L’Oreal, Maybelline and Mac gel liners in black but you know how a hoarder feels 😀 well this one seemed the blackest black and you can never have enough of black liners so..I picked this one as opposed the colored ones since I knew I would be able to wear it more than the others.

The first thing that really put me off is the packaging, that is similar to Revlon! Duh Lakme we can work better when we ask for a hefty price of 800 for a gel liner. The brush click locks in place so hard that is annoying to take it out. I would rather pick up another brush from my collection and apply.anyway, the brush is thicker than what I would normally use.

Apart from the price point, another thing that ticked me off is the tiny quantity you get in there. if you wear gel liner daily, you could finish it in two months, 😛 especially if you use the fat brush provided with it.My other gel liners are going strong, with duraline!

Okay now let us look at the positives! The color is indeed the blackest black in my collection. Perhaps the creamiest too. The texture is smooth like butter and you need to be gentle and use a lighter slimmer brush to pick it up.It could get gloopy on the lash line if you are not careful. The color is itense and very black no doubt and it is to my liking.

You can use a thicker coat or thinner, I have noticed I would like to go over it twice when I use a slim brush to line. Thicker brush is not comfortable for such a smooth gel.The wear time is 5 plus hours and yes I have noticed fading after 5 hours, it does not make a mess, or accumulate but it definitely lightens in 5 hours, lightens to half may be. You need to remove it with oil-based remover.I think office goers would like it but I was hoping it would not fade at all.May be it will not, on normal or dry eyelids.I do not wear anything on the waterline, so I cannot say this irritated or not,so far it has not caused any irritation.

On lashline only

This also reminds me of a fresh soft smooth piece of Maybelline lasting drama gel liner. So my point is why would any one pay 800 for a black liner, well I do not have the answers. All I know is this is very black, very creamy and quite long lasting.I do not like the packaging at all. Quantity could be more for the price, I do think it will not dry up soon as it is super soft.Considering all the above mentioned points I rate it:

  1. Nice EOTD Neha.. you are right that why would one pay 800/- for something which they can get in half the price from maybelline.. and after seeing your swatches i feel it is lesser pigmented than maybelline one 🙂
