Lakme Absolute Gel Addict Liner – Tempting Teal

Lakme Absolute Gel Addict Liner – Tempting Teal

Hi Beauties,
While writing this review, I suddenly started thinking about apna Lakme India brand. I remembered Lakme from my childhood days; when it was a very basic brand available in India; selling limited range of foundation, compact, kajal, and lipsticks; along with the basic skin care products. When we thought of buying blushers, highlighters, eyeshadows, etc; we would always look at other brands. Lakme was just being relegated to the everyday, middle class women, who always thought that using less makeup is beneficial to the skin.

Since the few recent years, Lakme has indeed grown by leaps and bounds. Lakme took over the sponsorship of the various famousIndian Fashion shows. It took on a famous personality to endorse its brand. From its website to its advertisements, Lakme was seen everywhere. It started grouping its products into three different ranges: the Classics for the everyday wear; the 9-to-5 range for the office goers; and the Absolute range for the Absolute diva-like look. The price range of these products were also kept according the ascending group to which it belonged. It gave a sense of beauty and confidence to all younger as well as older women in India; that they too could become modern, sophisticated fashionistas; using something which was complete Indian.

Lately, following the footsteps of some other brands, Lakme has launched some Gel Eye Liners in its Absolute range. I love it thatLakme is launching so many pretty, original and beautiful products; which has become a rage; not only in India, but abroad as well.

My Experience with Lakme Absolute Gel Addict Liner – Tempting Teal

The product comes in a beautiful black colored packaging, covered with a plastic wrap; similar to the Absolute range of products. The shade I bought in this range is named “Tempting Teal”. This is a gorgeous shade of teal, which actually tempted me to try it out.The product comes in a very pretty glass jar; to be closed with a pointed lid, which also holds the brush inside. The product is gel –like; but very light weight; and has an airy; almost moussy kind of consistency. The texture is extremely creamy, anddoes have very very minute shimmer particles in it. I love the microglitter, almost matte look in it. It still makes the eyes look very subtle, se*y; yet not over the top at all; and does not hurt my eyes at all.

The product applies very smoothly on the eyelids. The product does not have any rough or coarse feel to it. In fact, it applies very smoothly on the lids, and leaves behind a creamy texture. This shade needs around 2-3 swipes of the brush to have good quality pigmentation. It remains a bit glue-y for extremely small time; when you may smudge it to give your eyes a very smoky eyed effect. Once it sets; it sets. I mean, it does not fade, in color and intensity over 9-10hours on my non-primed eyes. It does not give a wrinkled or crumpled look to your eyelids at all. It cannot be removed with a simple face wash and water; this one definitely needs an eye make-up remover.

The brush provided with the lid is actually a workable brush. The brush can be used with the lid; or you may detach the brush from the lid before using them. The bristles are soft and fine in quality, and it applies the eye liner extremely well, without any problems at all. The brush is curved at the edges; hence you can easily go from thin to medium to thick eye lines within a couple of seconds; as per your whims and fancies. Since the product is quite compact, it is easy to carry it with you during travels (so you do not have to carry separate gel liners and separate brushes for each). Even then, I found making medium to thicker lines easier, compared to thinner lines.

Pros of Lakme Absolute Gel Addict Liner – Tempting Teal

• Brilliant packaging
• Very creamy and mousse like consistency
• All the shades are extremely beautiful
• Presence of microglitter in it; makes it suitable for use in parties; and out of it as well
• Does not irritate the eyes
• Very long lasting; does not fade; at least for 8-10 hours
• Does not smudge after 15-30 seconds
• Brush is very soft and workable; and built inside the packaging
• Very easy to get a seamless line
• Waterproof

Cons of Lakme Absolute Gel Addict Liner – Tempting Teal

• Expensive
• A bit bulky packaging (compared to pencil like eye-liners)
• Needs 2-3 swipes of brush for dense pigmentation
• The flat brush makes it a bit difficult to make thinner lines.

IMBB rating: 4.2/5 (would have loved a denser pigmentation)

Will I recommend Lakme Absolute Gel Addict Liner – Tempting Teal?

Absolutely!!!! You have to try this out to believe it. Its consistency is so creamy and smooth; and the color range is extremely gorgeous and long lasting; you will fall instantly in love with it.

  5. Omg u have such beautiful eyes!!
I have a query. Did u apply this on your lower lash line? Like where u apply kajal.. It’s the starting power any good there? I only apply kajal and i love my maybelline gel liner. Do u think this will be a good switch? It should i stick to maybelline?

  6. All right so everyone seems to be liking this very much, I don’t know it just doesn’t ‘gel’ with me (pun intended!) I mean the first time I saw that add with Kareena and the gold liner I just did not like the look of these. I agree the packaging and all is really nice and cute, but the finish it achieves is not really that appealing to my senses. I think the brown and black versions would appear better
