Like I said I really like the SA at the Shopper’s stop I visit here, and hence I did a major haul of Lakme absolute for IMBB last Sunday. I picked up mainly Absolute lipsticks, eyeshadows, and a couple of glosses, to see how we can explore more of our in house brand Lakme, and I must say the cute enrich lipsticks still cost Rs 225 and I think they are quite a steal considering how soft they are! Also the Eyeconic Kajal ( competition to who-you-know 😛 ) is doing very well, even while I was there at the counter, I could see how it sells like hot cakes, being an everyday wear thingy!
I picked up some four lipsticks, out of which the LipLush one turned out to be like a lip balm for me, totally not what I like! Then on the far extreme, is this lipstick Milan Red, which is so deep, berry, plum, and so pigmented that it took me for a surprise!I am quite happy I am reviewing this for all you girls who want to sport dark lip this winter, this is very winter, very gothic!
Initially I thought this would be a maroon named red, but this is such a pretty plum berry shade with maroon and brown undertones, that I think people who have a maroon block would also use this as a stain.
The lipstick is sturdy yet very creamy and soft, not a delicate way but just fine. It is very pigmented, and you can go over twice because it might not fill up your lip line in one go, and look streaky, either use a stain or coat it twice, so it would look uniform.It is a dark color so make it work for you.
I think it would suit fair or dusky skin tones, medium skin tones can skip this one, the color sets after application and then it does not budge. After 4 to 5 hours it fades evenly and would last for 6 hours I think without a meal.the finish is total matte , though the color has very fine gold shimmer ingrained in it.the shimmer wont show up much and the look is quite matte.I have to say it feels dry in half an hours, though not thick but not moisturizing at all, so skip this or top it with some gloss if you like!
Last word:
I am quite liking the deep pigmented plum that it is , very winter I must say. It is matte and stays on and on for me but you might find it a little drying in case you don’t like mattes.

I havent got the eyeconic kajal yet! I did a major online shopping haul recently, and I am eagerly waiting for all the products to reach me (yayy! I love the waiting period!)

yahan pe we have some fairs in this week. i entered office this morning and there were bmw, harley davison and vovlo’s to greet me. I came further in and saw this lakme stal. But very unhelpful sa! it was becuase of the aquashine that i went and ended up buying this one also!

was missing ur lip swatches yesterday 😀 i love the light weight formula of these lippies but yes they do tend to dry the lips after 3 to 4 hours but i m in absolute love with peach carnation..btw this does not look red from any angle!

This looks great on you…you make any lippy look good, but these are too drying for me, I have put away all my matte lipsticks till next summer becoz my lips are so badly dry these days.
