 Hi everyone!!!

I am new in the world of lipsticks. I was a complete gloss person a month back but then I don’t know what got into me and I started trying and liking lipsticks. I have 2-3 lipsticks and since I am completely broke this month, I didn’t dare to buy more. Like any other makeup lover, my resolution to restrain myself from makeup shopping makes me think more and more about makeup, especially my new interest- lipsticks. This urge of trying new lipsticks forced me to search my mom’s vanity when I went home the last time and as a result, I got a few of her lipsticks. 😛

She got a few Lakme Absolute Matte lipsticks recently and Berrylicious is one of her favorite shades. I borrowed it from her and after using it for about 4-5 times, here I am, with its review.

My experience with this product:

The first thing I said after seeing this lipstick was “I love how pretty the packaging is”. It comes in a long, silver packaging with the shade name written at the bottom. I find the packaging to be very classy and attractive.

Berrylicious is a plum color with hints of brown to it. The bullet looks more brown than plum but on lips, it gives more plum tones than the brown tone. This color will suit all complexions well. It can be used sheerly as a daily color and can be builded up as well. When I swatched this lipstick on my arm, the pigmentation was quite good and in two swipes, it gave a dark, opaque color. But when I applied it on my lips, the color came out to be quite sheer. It required 2-3 swipes to hide the pigmentation of my lips. Even after 2-3 swipes, the color doesn’t come out to be very dark and loud.

This lipstick glides on very softly and smoothly, like a dream. It doesn’t give a matte look when it is applied and in fact feels hydrating at that time. After about 2-3 hours, my lips feel dry and it aggravates the lines of my lips. Because of this, I prefer to apply a lipbalm beneath it. The matte look is quite evident after 2 hours. I won’t blame the lipstick completely for the dryness because of the winters. It stays on my lips for about 3-4 hours and doesn’t fade off completely after meals. It doesn’t smudge or bleeds.

Pros:

  •  The color is quite pretty. It will suit all complexions and can be used as a daily wear lipcolor.
  •  Glides on very smoothly and softly.
  •  Doesn’t smudge or bleed.
  •  Decent staying power.
  •  Attractive packaging.

Cons:

  •  Sheerly pigmented. Requires 2-3 swipes to hide the pigmentation of my lips.
  •  Lips feel dry after about 2-3 hours.

Will I repurchase/do I recommend?

Yes. Definitely. You can give this color a try if you like berry colors and moreover if you like Lakme Absolute lipsticks.
