It has been a while since I purchased Lakme lipsticks and now as I am in India, I thought to buy some Lakme Absolute Matte lipsticks. So, today I am here to review a lipstick from the above range. Let’s check more details about it:

My Experience with Lakme Absolute Matte Lipstick – Peach Pleasure:

Packaging:  The lipstick comes in a grey glossy packing with a click open cap. There is nothing fancy about the packing, actually I found it to be a bit boring.

Colour:  It is a bright peachy pink shade with golden shimmers in it. Even though it is bright, it does not give any clown-like effect.  It’s a very apt shade for fair to medium skin tones, but the shimmers in it can be a con for some. I personally love this shade as it perfectly complements my NC 30 skin tone.

Texture:  It has a smooth texture but does not glide like butter. I feel a certain tug and pull due to the shimmers in it. It does not have a gritty nature but still does not glide in a super smooth manner.

Finish:  It has a pure matte finish just as the name suggests. I am not at all satisfied with the finish because it applies very unevenly and gives an imperfect finish. It has a tendency to highlight dry patches and settle into lip lines. Thorough exfoliation is necessary before applying this lip color.

Pigmentation and Coverage:  The pigmentation is quite awesome when you apply on your hands, but it gives a totally different look while on the lips, it looks more like a sheer lip colour. How much ever I try to apply on lips, the colour does not come out very well, I still can see my lip pigmentation. Almost 70% of the colour is deposited in a single swipe but it cannot be built up. The color does not deposit easily on the lips after one swipe.

Staying Power:  It has an average staying power, it stayed around 4 to 5 hours with light meals and faded in an uneven manner. It also tends to get patchy at times, frequent look in the mirror was needed while I applied this lipstick.

Overall, I am not very impressed with the performance of this product due to its texture and finish, but I love the color. It is a shade suitable for light/medium skin tones, others can totally stay away from this shade. The true beauty of the color is not captured by the camera, the lipstick shade is actually darker than what it appears in the picture, it’s exactly the same shade in the hand swatch.

Pros of Lakme Absolute Matte Lipstick – Peach Pleasure:

• A beautiful peachy pink shade that gives a glow to your face.
• Glides in a smooth manner even though it contains shimmers.
• It has a matte finish but the shimmers in it give a more luscious look to the lips.,
• It has a decent staying power.

Cons of Lakme Absolute Matte Lipstick – Peach Pleasure:

• The finish of the lipstick is very uneven and does not give a perfect look.
• It tends to highlight dry patches and settle into lip lines.
• Does not hide lip pigmentation very well.
• After a meal, it tends to fade in an uneven manner and makes your lips look patchy.
• The golden shimmers can be a major con for those who dislike them.
• The packing of the lipstick is quite boring and unattractive.

IMBB Rating:

2.8/5. I have given 2.8 for the beautiful unique colour. I would not recommend this shade to those who suffer from dry lips. Even after thorough exfoliation, it still settles into lip lines and highlights even the minute dry patch on your lips. Those who have baby soft lips can give this try just for its colour.

Would I Repurchase Lakme Absolute Matte Lipstick – Peach Pleasure?

No, I will never buy this shade again but do want to try other non-shimmery shades from the range.
