Skin Tone: Medium Tanned
Lakme is continuously launching amazing makeup products and I am currently obsessed with their new launches. They have recently launched Absolute Matte Melt Liquid Lip Color in 8 beautiful shades. Now, let’s get into the detailed review on the shade “Vintage Pink.”
Lakme Absolute presents Matte Melt Liquid Lip – the first ever Matte liquid lip formulation. It has 8 irresistible shades ranging from a Bright bold red to an Intense Nude. The shades are Crazy Tangerine, Firestarter Red, Vintage Pink, Mulberry Feast, Red Smoke, Wine n Dine, Mild Mauve & Peach Rose. This matte lipstick will make your lips look lush, matte & bold. It has a velvety matte finish that delivers a lush, suede-like finish. It is long wear; in vivid colors that last through the day. These lipsticks have a new lightweight formula that feels feather light on your lips & has an intense, deep and rich color pay off in a single stroke. It has the ultimate lightweight formula enwraps lips for a long lasting silky comfort without drying your lips. It is completely transfer proof and stays all day. The wand is specially designed to give your lips an even color that can define the lips properly.
My Experience with Lakme Absolute Matte Melt Liquid Lip Color Vintage Pink:
Like other products from Lakme’s “Absolute” range, this lip color comes in a normal, black paper outer box and the actual lip product comes in a lovely, clear tube with a black cap. I really like this sleek packaging. It has a nice applicator wand that works well to define my lips, but due to its small tip, I have to dip it again and again to pick up the product.
This range has 8 shades and the shade “Vintage Pink” is a beautiful dusky rosy pink shade. I love the way it looks on my complexion and it goes well with every makeup look. It has a stunning neutral tone that makes it a perfect everyday wear pink for all skin tones. It totally looks gorgeous and a nice MLBB pink for my medium skin tone. The shade is decently pigmented, but it always needs two to three swipes for good color payoff on the lips. Though it can hide lip pigmentation, but still the pigmentation could have better like the other liquid lipsticks. Actually, the applicator wipes off the color once you apply the second layer, so there should be a little gap between the layers. Otherwise, it works pretty nice.
This is a great formula with a full, velvety, matte finish. It has a medium-thick, mousse-like soft texture that glides smoothly on the lips without any tugging. It doesn’t create any problem during application and works easily on the lips. It never looks patchy and never feels sticky. It takes a bit time to dry out completely. On the same point, it is actually good and I can easily layer it up and can fix any mistake as well.
Once it sets to a beautiful, velvety, matte finish that doesn’t transfer or smudge. I love its comfortable matte finish that gives me a very classy look. It performs so well, and most importantly, it provides a good amount of hydration to the lips. If you don’t like liquid lipsticks that dry out your lips, then you can give this Lakme one a try. It feels soft, very lightweight and comfortable too. I love this formula which is great for dry lips. It also has a nice vanilla fragrance. Also, the formula is pretty lightweight.
This lipstick lasts around 5-6 hours with normal coffee and snacks, but it doesn’t survive a heavy meal. Actually, food breaks the formula and then it slightly transfers, even on to the coffee cup too, but with normal snacks, it doesn’t look faded. It starts to look faded from the centre after having an oily meal and then I need to reapply.
Therefore, I can’t call it a super long-lasting lipstick, but definitely a good liquid lipstick, hence reapplication is quite easy as well. It never feels patchy with layers. Also, it can be easily be removed with a makeup wipe.
The formula as well as the quality is good enough and this shade is such a beautiful pink color. I adore such shades. Since I prefer long-lasting lip products, I wish it had a better staying power. Otherwise, it’s a lovely liquid lipstick to try and and I am happy with the shade too.
