Winter has finally arrived and I am enjoying every bit of it. When my vacations started I had decided to go for a jog in the morning and it has been 2 weeks but I don’t get out of my bed until 10. My mother has to take a lot of pain to wake me up. I feel a vibe of laziness in the atmosphere and I am affected by it a lot. Coming on to today’s product, it is nail paint from the Lakme Gel Stylist range. Initially they had launched 8 shades and added some more later on. Mystic Hue was a part of the shades that were launched afterwards.

My take on Lakme Absolute Mystic Hue Gel Stylist Nail Paint:

The nail paint comes in a transparent glass bottle with a black cap. The bottle is quite huge and heavy. The name of the shade is written on the top of the cap. The applicator brush is flat and applies the nail paint perfectly. There is no shredding of the brush as well as no brush marks. Coming on to the shade, it indeed is a very mysterious shade and thus the name “Mystic Hue” is apt for it. It is a dark navy shade which has purple and grey undertones to it. If seen from a distance it may look black as well. In the bottle it seems to be navy blue with slightly purple tint but when applied on the nails, it turns out to be extremely dark shade of blue with grey undertones.
The shade is a dark one but not very opaque. The consistency is quite runny and you need to be careful while applying so that only the required amount of product gets out of the bottle. You need to apply atleast 2 coats to get a good shade on your nails. The nail paint stays for around 5 days without chipping. After 6-7 days it starts fading. I never let my nail paints fade away completely so I can’t comment on its actual staying power.

No. This range has many other wonderful shades to choose from. This shade can obviously be skipped considering the high price you need to pay.
